Obama Adviser: 'If He Met With One Leader, He Would Have to Meet With 10.'

The reason why President Obama is not meeting with any foreign leaders during this week's United Nations General Assembly in New York is, as one aide to the president explained, because "If he met with one leader, he would have to meet with 10."
The reasoning was explained that way to the New York Times.
"Mr. Obama was scheduled to attend a reception for world leaders at the United Nations on Monday night. But a campaign adviser acknowledged privately that in this election year, campaigning trumped meetings with world leaders. 'Look, if he met with one leader, he would have to meet with 10,' the aide said, speaking on the condition of anonymity," the Times reports today.

He’s not meeting with them because he knows he doesn’t have their respect. World leaders, collectively, have dissed him before and it showed, he doesn’t want a repeat performance. There’s a picture floating around somewhere that shows him to be an outsider to the group of “world leaders.”

Actually, the truth is that if he met with one leader it would have to be Netanyahu, therefore he canceled other meetings because he would not be able to explain why he did not.

My sentiments exactly! Isn't that what presidents do? He's got time for silliness on David Letterman and The View but doesn't have time to meet with Bibi. This man is a disgrace to his office. PLEASE, Obama, go play some more golf and leave us alone. When Israel destroys its enemies and you are made to look the fool you really are, YOU will be the one crawling to Bibi to talk with him.
To: Justaham
At least 10 of them have taken, and eaten his lunch. He can’t beg them to stop being mean until after the election or he will look weak. Anyone else seeing the picture?

It is a shame that this dereliction of duty will not be covered by MSM. So he meets with 10 leaders? What does that take? 1/2 a day; a full day?
Maybe he can get a quick game of golf in while the weather is still nice here in NY. Winged Foot is only 1/2 an hour away!
OTOH, that will probably cost him $4 or $5 million in donations for fundraisers he will have to pass on. Maybe he just sends Sebelius, Holder or Panetta with their hats out. They have nothing better to do. (Actually, I'm OK with Panetta; not his fault he works for a weak President - he's still a lefty, but moderately respectable.)
To: Justaham

Uh, isn't that your job as President?? When you were first sworn in, you said you were ready for all the responsibilities of the Presidency .... guess that was just another big lie, eh Blue-Lips?
BTW, golfing and partying with Hollywood celebrities are NOT part of the Presidential duties, Bamster, in case you didn't know ....

You know, in Clinton’s first term, he complained about not having enough time during the day for himself. So, they scheduled a few hours in the afternoon “for himself.” That extra free time afforded him a “relationship” with Monica.

Carol Platt Liebau was first female managing editor of the Harvard Law Review:
"It reminds me a little bit of my experience with him when he was president of the Harvard Law Review. You know, I hesitated to say a lot about this during the campaign because I really thought maybe it wasn't fair. That maybe, finally, when he got to be President, this would be a job big enough to engage and hold Barack Obama's sustained interest, because really, is there a bigger job out here?
[...]
[W]hen he was at the HLR you did get a very distinct sense that he was the kind of guy who was much more interested in being the president of the Review, than he was in doing anything as president of the Review.
A lot of the time he quote/unquote "worked from home", which was sort of a shorthand - and people would say it sort of wryly - shorthand for not really doing much. He just wasn't around. Most of the day to day work was carried out by the managing editor of the Review, my predecessor, a great guy called Tom Pirelli whose actually going to be one of the assistant attorney generals now.
He's the one who did most of the day to day work. Barack Obama was nowhere to be seen. Occasionally he would drop in he would talk to people, and then he'd leave again as though his very arrival had been a benediction in and of itself, but not very much got done.
So, you know, you see that and you think, gosh, maybe that's the way the guy operates, hut then you figure ok, obviously he always had his eye on bigger and better things.
But now he's President...there really isn't a bigger or better thing."

And that would REALLY mess with his Jay-Z, Beyonce, David Letterman, golf and fund raising time! That is the point. When Obama looks at his daily schedule he sees potential donors. He does not see the Middle East exploding.

I can understand this. When you have to meet with 10 people it's starting to sound like work and the last thing Obama has any intention of doing is working. Hey, he won.
