Thank you very much for sharing your perspective. I didn't think that your post was rambling in the least. Complacency is probably the biggest threat facing our country. People simply do not remember the sacrifices that have been made on their behalf and the hardships faced by those who came before them. I hope that you are right that our constitution will protect us from those who throw out our entire system for expediency.

The other night I watched a movie called "Gabriel Over the White House" which was released in 1933. It was funded largely by William Randolph Hearst. The film advocated for an American President becoming a facist dictator to solve our country's problems.

Franklin Roosevelt was given a copy of the script and "He liked it so much that he took time during the hectic first weeks of his presidency to suggest several script rewrites that were incorporated into the film."
