Germany calls off Sudan investment forum after embassy storming

Germany has called off a conference next month to drum up investment for Sudan after its embassy in Khartoum was stormed in protests against a film that insults the Prophet Mohammad, Sudanese officials and diplomats said on Thursday.

The move is a blow for Sudan which has been trying to attract investment to help overcome an economic crisis worsened by the loss of most of its oil reserves when arch-foe South Sudan declared independence in July 2011.

Germany, one of the few Western countries with good ties to Khartoum, had planned to host a conference in mid-October to foster economic cooperation with Sudan, according to diplomats.

The event, scheduled to be held in Germany, would have been a rare chance for Khartoum to meet Western firms reluctant to invest in the African country due to a U.S. trade embargo, weak laws and corruption.

Diplomats said Berlin decided to shelve the event after protesters set the German embassy on fire on Friday to demonstrate against the film which depicts the prophet as charlatan and womaniser.

Protesters had also targeted the U.S. and British embassies.

Meanwhile the Sudan denied the US request to send a detachment of Marines to guard the US Embassy and the US response was to state that it was evacuating nonessential personnel. Once again, the Obama passive reaction. How about closing the Embassy and or cutting off of foreign aid?

"The event, scheduled to be held in Germany, would have been a rare chance for Khartoum to meet Western firms reluctant to invest in the African country due to a U.S. trade embargo, weak laws and corruption."

Guess they can now add something else to that list, too.

"Sure, they're 7th-century inbred savages, but that doesn't mean we can't all get along and make a Euro or two along the way, does it?"

"Ah, on second thought..."

Get ready to get pissed:

KHARTOUM, Sudan: Sudan: 2 protesters killed outside US Embassy
Bradenton Herald

Sudanese police say two protesters were killed in a traffic accident during chaotic demonstrations outside the U.S. Embassy in Sudan, bringing the total killed in a wave of protests across the Muslim world against an anti-Islam film to at least five. Two demonstrators died in Tunisia during Friday’s violence and another was killed in Lebanon. Egyptian police have not confirmed reports of the death of another protester in Cairo.

It irks me that the MSM and Zero always use the phrase "the Prophet Mohammad", giving Islaam a defacto relevance, and the impression that this so-called "prophet" deserves reverence. I say that any "prophet" or "god" that needs its "honor" protected by mortals is a poor prophet/god indeed.

God needs no protection as His honor is as much a given as when He declared, "I AM"... Before time, during time, after time, HE IS!

Mortal men have nothing to offer to God but their own souls for His safekeeping. Anyone who thinks otherwise is not worshipping God, but worships an imposter...

Sudan Tightens Security Measures Around Western Embassies Ahead of New Protests

The important part, though, is in building the meme — that it wasn’t jihad-as-usual, but was somehow triggered by a piece of Obama administration agitprop, dropped into the jihadist social media, while simultaneously being smeared as having a series of sources that it didn’t have.
