Nevadas U.S. Senate race is now a virtual tie.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Nevada Voters finds incumbent Republican Dean Heller with 42% support, while his challenger, Democratic Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, gets 41% support. Four percent (4%) like some other candidate in the race, and a sizable 12% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
This is a marked change from July when Heller posted a 51% to 42% lead over Berkley. The Republican has generally had the lead throughout the year.
Nevada now moves from Safe Republican to a Toss-Up in the Rasmussen Reports Senate Balance of Power rankings.

This is not good. Not good at all.
We need to save our conservative Senators.
Why is this happening??
We need the Senate to repeal Obamacare!!!!
I think it was @(#)!@)_# Akin plus a lackluster lazy Romney campaign
Please everybody we need to win the Senate!
Do anything you can! Donate, volunteer, lawn sign, register your family
vote absentee
I think the Soroses of the world are pouring money into all these races to help the Communist Democrats in order to stop us from repealing Obamacare. Wake up, Republicans! Why are we the stupid party?
September sucks all the way around.
I don’t know my country anymore.
I’m waiting for the PPP poll showing the Dem up by a 50-42 margin.
I don’t know if this is an outlier, but for Heller to lose 9% seems a bit fishy to me.
Whoever is running the Senate election fund is an abysmal failure. We are running worse in almost every race than we should be. In most all cases, the Dems got out in front with damaging ads, and our guys are fighting from behind. We should have been hammering the Dems for 3 months now on the failures of the Harry Reid Senate.
“Wake up, Republicans! Why are we the stupid party?”
Those in control of the Republican Party want to “tweak” Obamacare, not repeal it. The Republican establishment is not running a campaign to win anything for the conservative base.
The people of Nevada deserve some responsibility for this too. Remember they also inflicted us with Harry Reid.
$$$$$$$$$
Now we need every able bodied conservative in nearby California to come out here and help, or we lose the Senate. It is that simple.
“Whoever is running the Senate election fund is an abysmal failure. “
John Cornyn of Texas is head of the national Republican Senatorial Committee.
The energy of the Tea Party was responsible for the gains in the 2010 election. The Republican establishment has made no attempt to engage the Tea Party in the 2012 election. The results are to be expected.
Look.
No, everyone thought this was a “safe” seat except conservatives actually here in Nevada who know what we’re dealing with in Vegas.
Berkley will get that Senate amnesty thing if she wins, and Reid gets to keep his Majority Leader. Plus they get to take out one of the actual conservative Senators who is vehemently against card check instead of a RINO.
The Dems are pouring money into this state hand over fist for Berkley and Obama.
This was the plan all along.

Well said!
As long as the main goal of the RINO Party is to win over the tiny (< 10 %) Independent vote, and ignore the HUGE Base, the RINOs will continue to chose to lose elections.
Energize the Base and they will win.
Chase after the fence-sitters and all they will get are splinters up their RINO.
DUH!
So, the current poll supposedly shows Berkley with 1% less than in July, so no evidence of having picked up new voters. The total percentage reported, adding Heller and Berkley, was 93% in July, now only 83%. This would have to mean that a lot of people are now in the undecided category that weren't before (hard to believe), or that there is a problem with this poll.
The bottom line is that we are all going to wind up with stress ulcers if we keep hanging on each and every poll. Just keep fighting, and be optimistic. Optimism hurts the left. They can't win without demotivating conservatives and all those who are suffering from Obama’s policies. Between the Middle East instability, the horrible economy, record numbers of people on food stamps, etc. etc., I would much rather be us than them.
Keep the faith.
You bring up a good point. But I don’t understand how Heller’s lead evaporated.
The issue is how this stuff works in Nevada — when the Dems see a close race, they start pouring in the money because they think they have a shot. The SEIU machine turns on in Clark County. If turnout on our side is in jeopardy, we not only lose the seat, but we lose a conservative Senator.
We need help here. We have the Paulbot factor too. Trying to convince them to vote for a Republican is a challenge.
