WASHINGTON, D.C. - WASHINGTON, D.C. Phew!
The U.S. and Mexico aren't scheming to invade Canada, according to U.S. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland.
On Wednesday, she thrice denied that a closed-door meeting between Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Mexico's foreign minister was to plot a takeover of Canada.
"This isn't some secret thing to invade Canada or something like that?" a reporter asked Nuland during a press briefing about why a signing ceremony between the two countries wasn't open to the press.
"No, no, no," Nuland replied. "It's not anything classified."
That's a relief.

IF they deny it, then I’m thinking there might be some truth in it. (Let’s let Holder and Obama be point men)

It is my understanding that the US military has strategic plans on how to conquer any territory, including their allies.
It’s more of a war strategic game than anything else. For preparation of an uncertain future. It’s not a real plan, in the sense that they are really planning on carrying it out at the moment.
It’s along the same line of thinking, when the Pentagon analyzes how many nukes they really need to flatten the world.

I’m much more worried about plans to takeover states and fight American citizens within the US, than any plan to invade Canada.

We've already invaded Canada. Several times, during the War of 1812.
The Americans were able to beat the British on American soil, but the Canadians beat us on theirs. Rather handily.

Actully, the primary reason that we won that war - and we did win it - was our victory on Canadian soil at Moraviantown in 1813, where we achieved the most decisive milestone of the land war.
We, the United States, killed Tecumseh there.
After that, the continued American sovereignty over the Northwest Territory and the Louisiana Purchase was assured. Only Tecumseh, the greatest Native American War leader/statesman ever to live, could have prevented it.

I’d like to see Canada Tire move south and add firearms to their SKU’s.
But, the cigarettes have to go, and those ministry dudes in the floating planes who drop in on you and squeeze the fishes tails to a gnat’s ass in order to write a citation get old real quick.
You can keep the no-see-ums too!

BTW We we'll gladly trade Quebec for Alaska. Whadaya say? After the upset of the PQ victory in the Provincial election in Quebec and indeed the sadness of Canadians on the news of murders of Americans in the Middle East, we need a laugh.
Boys oh boys, the spectre of the habitants of Quebec moaning and whining no matter who and what, would send most Americans scurrying back to the pleasant confines of New York State. I drove through Quebec once and continued down to Rouses Point NY. Felt like I was home. (laughs).

For preparation of an uncertain future. Its not a real plan, in the sense that they are really planning on carrying it out at the moment. How do you train staff officers on preparing war plans? By writing war plans. You figure out how many troops you need, what logistics you need, how many trucks and planes you need to support them, etc. etc. etc. And then you keep those staff exercises in the files just in case you need them. The level of detail usually matches how seriously we take the threat. Landing troops in Iran and taking out their nuclear facilities probably has shelves full of war plans, while the invasion of Canada is much sparser.
However, we should invade and conquer Canada in order to force them to take Detroit as part of their terms of surrender. :-)

5. After meeting feeble resistance from the already-weakened-by our-clever-campaign-Americans, Canadian troops seize control of all US cities.
I'm going to be a friend and warn you. You don't want our cities. Trust me, you really don't (especially Detroit!)

Operations Plan (OPLAN)Crimson called for a two pronged attack into Canada, in the east toward Toronto, in the west into BC as part of a trade war with the UK. It was in effect until the mid 1930’s. We have planners who plan for every possible contingencey; it’s what they do. Planners plan.

Yes, I wish the goddam bears would just finish up their eating and get to sleep for the winter; you can’t walk a mile around here without stumbling across these chicken-gobbling, cherry-tree-breaking, lawn-crapping giant furballs.
Luckily, no grizzlies within 3 or 4 miles - they’re a real pain in the butt for those who’ve got them hanging around.
Actually, winter’s a couple of months away here in the south.
