The latest mandate handed down from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is so ridiculous, even I was shocked. The EPA has now mandated how much gasoline you must buy at certain gas stations. Say hello to the Obama Administrations four gallon minimum.

It’s insanity
What surprised me was that after this was posted yesterday on FR, there were actually FReepers who argued that Obama could never make this legally happen.
When did the Baraqqis worry about legal?
This can’t be real
Firts they put bootleg loquor in our gasoline. This destroys every piece of rubber it comes int contach with, gives us lower fuel mileage and increase the cost of our ceral in the morning, then they tell us we have to buy 4 gallons of this blended shiite.
If we stand for this we will kneel for Obama in our Lewinski knee pads.
No, it's Jimmy Carter, part deaux, with odd-even days and the whole thing. What will they think of next???
It's unreal....
Otherwise known as the lawnmower ban.
How are you supposed to buy a gallon for your lawn mower, or if you have to walk to a station because you’re out of gas?
This is crazy. Damn.
this should really help the working poor...
HOPEY-CHANGEY, SUCKAZ!
How are you supposed to buy a gallon for your lawn mower, or if you have to walk to a station because youre out of gas?
His Highness says “thats your problem.”
How exactly do they plan to enforce regulations such as this one? Fine the dealer? The purchaser? If the sale is conducted in cash, how would anyone know?
E10 destroyed my John Deere lawnmower, according to the small engine mechanic I took it to. Of course, the electric start Toro walk-behind I was eyeing might have had something to do with his opinion.
I would suppose that they would have the TSA enforce it.
I see the future on this. Millions of conservatives lined up at gas stations and stopping the pump at 3.99 gallons just before lining up at the local Chic-fil-a.
Ethanol is for drinking not for burning.
what surprises me is that anyone here is surprised by crap like this
“...if you have to walk to a station because youre out...”
Then lets convert this to lbs. Gasoline weighs about seven pounds per gallon. So four gallons is 28 pounds. Yes, just lug that 28 to 30 lbs. up the road or home for your lawn mower.
What Romney should now go after are the reasons why those on fixed incomes have to go on food stamps and other benefits such as energy assistance etc.
The price of food, the cost of energy, driven up by regulations and prohibitions designed to change the systems of distribution and use of resources to conform to a socialist ideal.
What if you can’t afford 4 gallons of gas? I’ve been there and still am.
Otherwise known as the lawnmower ban.
Back to the old push mowers.
Once the pump starts, it won't stop until the 0bama-mandated minimum has been ejected.
Bump
“How are you supposed to buy a gallon for your lawn mower”
I guess you’d have to pump that four gallons into your one gallon can. Not your fault it wouln’t all fit in the can. You were only following the law.
Kinda expensive though.
At current local prices, that’s about $15.
So, if I only have $10 I can’t buy any gasoline?
These people are beyond stupid............
“How are you supposed to buy a gallon for your lawn mower, or if you have to walk to a station because youre out of gas?”
That’s simple.
You simply buy the commonly available E10 fuel and you can buy as little as you need.
They’ll find a way.
IF it’s real it’s because Obama anticipate gas shortages and doesn’t want people ‘topping off’ gas tanks. Could be one more hint of bad things to come if Obama is re-elected.
Once gasoline hits $40 a gallon, it won’t be a problem...............................
On the bright side; it takes about four gallons of gas to burn a corpse, man.
Obama and the EPA figure it as tough sh*t, you and your damned older and little engines are a nuisance. The faster they burn out the better so it will be quicker for Joe and Jane Citizen to find another way to get around.
We had better wise up and quick. If the voters retain Obama and his diabolical machine they truly deserve the mess that is in store. .
Let them try.
“My motorcycle does not have a four gallon tank! I guess I will have to pour most of the gas on the concrete.....”
You may want to consider not putting E15 or E20 Fuel into your motorcycle’s gas tank and stick with the E10 that will still be available with no minimum purchase.
Not if there's a liberal getting gas next to you.
Obama's Four Gallons of Gas Minimum Mandate
By Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), Special to The Hill
The latest mandate handed down from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is so ridiculous, even I was shocked. The EPA has now mandated how much gasoline you must buy at certain gas stations. Say hello to the Obama Administrations four gallon minimum.
This unprecedented EPA overreach applies when filling up at a gas station that provides both E15 and E10, gasoline with 15 or 10 percent of ethanol, respectively, from the same hose.
At the insistence of the ethanol industry, the Obama Administration is pushing E15 into the marketplace, regardless of the serious concerns about the fuels impact on drivers. From its inception, E15 is a study in the consequences of government interference in the marketplace. The EPAs decision to set a minimum purchase requirement is just the most recent example.
-snip-
The EPA approved E15 for sale in the U.S. using a partial waiver, meaning it is only approved for some vehicles on the road cars 2001 and later.

No half gallon for my lawnmower?
The purpose of this ruling is supposedly to prevent people from pumping gas with ethanol into small engines, motorcycles, scooters, etc. because the ethanol can harm those engines.
The reasoning is that these machines have tanks with a capacity of less than 4 gallons, so this law will force people to fuel them at non-ethanol gas pumps which are not subject to the 4 gallon minimum requirement.
But, like other bright government ideas thought up by bureaucrats sitting in cubicle farms, they never seem to see the unintended consequences.
Example: The bureaucrats seem to think that gas stations offer both types of gasoline in pumps side by side. But in my area there are no longer any regular gas stations selling pure gas without ethanol. Supposedly the pure gas is available at marinas, airports, etc. but what help is that to the average driver or homeowner? Or the guy who ran out of gas and only has a two gallon gas can?
And my 2002 Yamaha 225cc usually takes about 1.3 gallons when I top off its almost 2.2 gallon tank.
Heck, motorized skateboards hold only a quarter of a gallon (42cc Terrain Surfer) and if prices go up much more that’s what many of us will be using.
Also the new cover wherever Chris Rock or Janeane Garofalo are appearing....
I’ve got a five gallon gasoline container. I plan to fill it half-full tomorrow.
The clerk can either take my money or Zero and the EPA can kiss my a**.
No half gallon for my lawnmower was incomplete. Suppose I drive a Volt? Do I have to keep a five gallon fuel jug around because they won’t fill my little one to cut the grass a few times?
bump
I just buy pure gasoline for my riding mower, small gasoline engines, motorcycles, and pre-millenial cars. All of them run better and get better mileage on pure gas. You can actually feel the difference. For my newer cars, it doesn't matter as much. They run fine on E10.
I have two stations selling ethanol-less gas within 5 miles of my house. It's worth the effort. You can look up stations at the following website:
http://pure-gas.org/index.jsp
I've also been there, and a couple days ago I was behind a guy at the local Stop & Rob who wanted "$10 on pump 3." Just in case the dense dictator-wannabees in the Fauxbama administration can't do simple math, $10 isn't going to buy 4 gallons of gas (or milk, for that matter - thanks a Shiite-load for both, you f'ing morons!).
I'd say, "Phuck'em!" FYI, next time I buy gas, I'm going to get 3.5 gallons repeatedly, until I've filled up my car.
When they took the lead out of gasoline it destroyed the valves in tens of thousands of pre-'70s vehicles forcing the owners to get loans on new plastic bubble cars. You think the FedMob gives a crap if they destroy your car with this? They see it as an economic stimulus.
1. Term limit them out, so they won't need all that campaign cash.
2. Make all political contributions anonymous, so they can't sell influence. Maybe then they'll do what is right vs. what is politically expedient.
