I always loved that quote. I was up at Independence Hall about two weeks ago, one of my favorite places to visit, and I swear when you walk along some of the cobblestone you can almost hear the clack-clack of the carriages, the din of the awaiting “citizens,” and the faint echo of Mr. Franklin’s amazing rejoinder to the inquiring lady who reputedly shouted out the question:

“And what kind of government have you given us, Mr. Franklin?”

God, what great men these otherwise ordinary geniuses were!

I have a beautiful 58” tv in my den here but rarely turn it on. My wife is always watching her tv in the living room, but almost always the Home and Garden channel and sometimes TLC or the Cooking channel. My kids watch their tv’s with my daughter watching Disney channel teen stuff and my son watching cartoons.

But I only turn my on for Football and rarely—if at all-Discovery, History, Nat Geo or Animal Planet. Oh, and the XBox. Still I watch more movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime on the XBox than I play any video game!

News I get from here, Drudge, FoxNews and talk radio on the radio.

Beck absolutely has the idea in mind, to create a true conservative network. But the money he would need requires backers who just haven’t shown up yet. I’m not sure they will, as time now is obviously very short.

By blaming a 2 minute clip of a movie that has been on the net for months, that 99% of the Islamic peoples knew nothing about, for this pre-planned Al Qaeda terrorist attack, the Obama administration and the mainstream media has taken a rural terror operation and turned it into an international firestorm.

Al Qaeda is rejoicing in the windfall of recruitment and publicity this irrational and academic discourse is fueling.

The current administration and the American national media will stop at nothing, not even Mideast chaos and war to take the focus off the domestic failures of the current liberal paradigm.

The crucible of fault that the administration and the MSM find in this evil and premeditated attack is American’s belief in the right of free speech and Mitt Romney’s right of criticism.

I have been reluctant to side with those here on FR who would say America is a soon-to-be-lost entity. However, with the blatant and obvious ruse being perpetrated and accepted by and on the free thinking peoples of this nation and the western world in general, I grow weary.

But this thing where an obscure movie gets the “credit” creates a longer term problem for AQ.

Remember, it was the emergence of the “truther” myth in the middle east regarding 9/11 that forced KSM to come out of hiding and start giving interviews to sympathetic reporters, to CONVINCE EVERYONE that al Qaeda was responsible for 9/11 (not Israel), that eventually led to his arrest.

Al Qaeda will eventually loudly take FULL CREDIT for Egypt, Libya, the rest of it.

Regarding having no TV. I don’t have a TV, period. The last TV I watched was Sarah Palin’s acceptance speech at the 2008 Repub Convention.

Truthfully, I don’t miss TV a bit. I’m not a big sports fan.

There is so much garbage on TV. The “news” is worthless as is most of the programming. Reality TV? I’d rather handle my own reality.

MiD asked, “Can you get enough news off the Internet?” Yes you can. I get all my news from the Internet. Virtually every newspaper has a web site. So do the TV outlets. Then there’s blogs and of course, FREE REPUBLIC. In fact, there’s so much news in the Internet it’s sometimes hard to keep up. Plus, for much of the news, the Internet is the only place to be as the LSM doesn’t cover anything negative about nobama or the RATS.

And, much of what I’d watch if I had a TV is available for free from YouTube. I just watched the 60 Minutes interview of “Mark Owen.” Fascinating.

Actually, the FBI is far more capable of doing the work than locals no doubt.Problem is they will be in no particular hurry you can bet your last dime.
