TUNIS, Tunisia — Violent protests outside the U.S. Embassy in Tunis against an anti-Muslim film were met with tear gas and gunshots Friday, leaving two people dead, 29 others injured and plumes of black smoke wafting over the city.
Several dozen protesters briefly stormed the U.S. Embassy compound in Tunisia’s capital, tearing down the American flag and raising a flag with the Muslim profession of faith on it as part of the protests. Protesters also set fire to an American school adjacent to the embassy compound and prevented firefighters from approaching it. The school appeared to be empty and no injuries were reported...

I doubt that very much. Dumbass doofus dumber than Shiite, GW Bush actually enjoyed that outrageous lie, and repeated it on numerous occasions. Less than 3 weeks after 9/11, is when GW Bush first made this outrageous statement.
He declared on more than one occasion, that all roads lead to heaven... so much for his supposed Christian faith, and certainly no Biblical knowledge or understanding at all. Jesus declared that He is the way, the truth & life. No man comes to the Father except by Him. In the book of Acts, it declares there is no other name under Heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved. Not Islam, not Muhammad, not Buddha, not Confucius, etc. Only the name of Jesus. GW Bush is ignorant & unaware of this basic tenet of the Christian faith.
I would be willing to bet that GW Bush had more sympathies for the muzzies killing our ambassador & other Americans, and would vent his outrage against the filmmaker rather than the muzzies.

Why such a feeble response? I would like to see hackers take over the video airwaves in the ME and force feed repeated viewings of the Mohammed movie. Place geosynchronous satellites over the region and jam all their airwaves and repeatedly show the movie. Eventually they’ll kill each other and themselves to relieve the agony.

Do we know WHY the Cairo embassy sent out the apology statement in the first place? I mean, did they get a note saying protesters were headed their way and they’re mad about a video?

I think in Tunisia there are 2 protestors dead. Probably killed by Tunisian police not us. Which is the way it should be. The host country has primary responsibility for protecting the embassy. Though we should always be prepared to defend ourselves.

I'm pretty sure the Cairo embassy didn't send out an apology until after the embassy was attacked. Early reports had Egyptian TV repeatedly airing clips of the Innocence of Muslims video trailer. Who was behind them airing that on 9/11 is the question of the day.
So far they seem pretty sure that Al Quaida organized this. It appears they used the film to stir up local protests and then sent in their fighters to turn it violent.

I could have sworn that commentators and even someone from the WH said they put out the statement to protect the embassy from “being” attacked. I could be wrong, there’s been so much chatter.
