That is because Akin made more stupid statements than all others in my list including “I am not a witch” statement. He deserves the wrath of all thinking republicans.
And had his legs kicked out from under him by the establishment Republican party and 80% of the people posting on Free Republic. Abandoned by Republicans and Freepers who pee in their pants when the media say's Boo! Doing so, running away from a solid conservative with a twelve year record of voting conservative.
It is hilarious to see the comments here about Rove. They are virtually identical to those at DU.
Of course, Rove has almost no influence within the GOP today
and certainly is not the reason Romney is the candidate.
In some ways, yes, he was the most solid and experienced conservative. He even voted against the Part D Medicare crap of Bush and Company.
Is he bluntly spoken, yes to his disadvantage, but if you looked and the overall record, characterisics and other issues of the three conservatives that ran in the primary he might very well have the most FR type record.
Is he stupidly rigid and poorly spoken. The answer to that is also yes.
If you can accept one dead body, you’ll accept a lot more.

Hayworth had no chance to defeat McCain, GOP “establishment” or not. Nor did it have anything to do with him being re-districted.

Akin should apologize for his one mistake and then list McK’s many bad votes as mistakes.

Hayworth lost his seat because he was redistricted into a more left-leaning district, as I said.
Hayworth lost the Senate race specifically because he was running against McCain, who had an almost insurmountable advantage because of his seniority and ability to bring in the pork into the district, as I said.
Go back to school and learn to read, mouth-breather.

If you other attempts at "rebuttal" are as pathetic as this one was, then I don't see why I should care what you do, one way or another.
Results speak for themselves. No matter of Monday morning quarterbacking changes the results. There are 100 times more candidates who got support of the GOP-e and got elected who were just as conservative as the ones in my list who lost.
There is just no point in defending candidates who are not good politicians, no matter how pure they are. Once they lose they become irrelevant and 100% powerless.
Todd Akin has not lost an election in 24 years.
In 08 the GOP threw my conservative freshman congressman overboard after he voted against TARP both times. The NRCC stripped him of funds along with Michele Bachmann, Virgil Goode and a couple of others calling them “lost cause races”.
My congressman lot by a whopping 2 points in a consistent GOP district. Bachmann pulled out a win and Goode obviously lost. The Democrat I was stuck with for 2 years then proceeded to vote for Obamacare.
Fortunately we returned my former congressman to Washington against party wishes in 2010 and this year he won the primary with nearly 75% of the votes and the democrats are running a placeholder campaign that they don’t appear to expect to win.
Moderates are lying, manipulative, bottom feeding scum. They will hand a race to the democrats just so they can say they told you so and run someone even further left next time.
Actually, it DOES make perfect sense.
To paraphrase the Myth Rom-gay supporters on here, Akin is better than McCaskill, warts and all. Better to have a guy who makes some dumb comment about "legitimate rape" but who will nevertheless vote down-the-line conservatively put into office, than to put one of Obama's most lackyish lackies back into the seat.
Is it possible you are really this dim? Why do you keep throwing out Scott Brown when discussing the Akin situation? You're posts on this subject do not even demonstrate a spark of intelligent thought, so I am left to believe you are just being intentionally obtuse.
Scott Brown has nothing at all to do with Akin's idiotic, campaign killing comments. Brown is pro-abortion. Yes, we know that. There are many pro-abort Republicans. I don't agree with them either, but there it is. Akin is pro-life. I agree with Akin's position, including being against abortion in cases of rape and incest. Unfortunately, Akin made a bunch of ridiculous comments that killed his campaign. Brown didn't do that. Akin is losing to perhaps the most vulnerable Democrat in the Senate. Brown is currently beating the Democrat the left most wants in office. This Senate seat is more important than Akin's ego. This is no different than if the star running back of your favorite football team busted up his knee and he lost a step as a result. It may be sad, it may be unfair, but that running back gets fired and you bring in someone who can win.
