Please pass along this clip as a means to shut up a blatantly false claim by the Obama campaign that Mitt Romney is going to remove preexisting conditions from his health care plan.
He CLEARLY STATED on Sunday's Meet The Press that he WILL NOT remove the preexisting conditions from his reformed version of health care.
I know we have major issues with Mitt and Romneycare but the Obama campaign is doing a huge viral attack today about this with images and Ezra Klein's piece in the WaPo.
www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/wp/2012/09/10/who-would-be-left-out-of-romneys-preexisting-conditions-plan-about-89-million-americans/
Here is the image they are using in their viral campaign and man let me tell you...it is working and scaring a lot of people. Team Romney needs to get on top of this:

Here is the link to the video where the part begins at 20:18 of the interview where Romney states it is NOT getting removed.
Wait so I have an insurance company. And I don’t think it’s profitable for me to insure this sickly dude with a history of being sick.
But I have to insure him anyway?
Damn. That sucks.
Who the heck says anyone wants a “reformed” version of obamacare? That’s the actual sticking point for me. The gov. has no business interfering with the insurance market. PERIOD.
As I said...I know we ALL have major problems with Romneycare...however...what Team Obama is doing here is blatantly false from Romney’s words. Preexisting conditions is a HUGE issue for those who struggle every day to get insurance...any insurance. These kinds of messages are easy deal breakers for casual voters who only vote during the presidency.
Don’t worry - you just raise rates on EVERYONE. (Mine just went up $100/month AGAIN).
And in a little while it will either be:
a) Opps - I was going to say the insurance companies go out of business because they are so high-priced no one will buy, but they HAVE to buy, so:
b) The evil insurance companies are ripping everyone off so government comes in to save the day and give cheap insurance,
b1) But the doctors won’t work that cheap, so
b2) The government takes over the entire health care
industry.
b3) And now gains control of another HUGE portion of
American capital and power.
Why would anyone pay for insurance if you can just wait until something bad happens and get your mishap covered anyway? That’s not “insurance.” That’s “pay for me.” I must be one of those crazy right wingers who thinks of stuff like this.
Team obama lying on a website that is called “TRUTH TEAM”.
Why is it that living under Obama is like living through and Ayn Rand or George Orwell novel?
Anybody?
As for this ‘pre-existing conditions BS’ ... it doesnt matter what Romney would or wouldnt do... that 89,000,000 is totally absolutely fabricated and we know for a simple reason:
THERE NEVER WERE 89 million PEOPLE DENIED COVERAGE UNDER PRE_EXISTING CONDITIONS PRIOR TO THIS LAW!
Claims of millions covered under Obamacare? False.
Claims of pre-existing conditions being a problem? Inflated. In reality it is much much smaller.
Romney is actually projecting weakness when he self-admits to ‘hey I’ll do this too’. It would be better to say:
“Obamacare is 100% bad, unaffordable, unconstitutional, raises costs and cuts choices and freedom. I will repeal it all.”
The real solution to the problem of pre-existing conditions is to allow the free market insurance system to work, and those who need extra help with pre-existing conditions get subsidies via S-chip or medicaid. QED.
“Who the heck says anyone wants a reformed version of obamacare? Thats the actual sticking point for me. The gov. has no business interfering with the insurance market. PERIOD.”
I agree, but with our dumbed down electorate that will be used as fodder by the Democrats to say that Republicans want people to die.
Do you recall the question asked of the baby doctor Ron Paul, in one of those lib-moederated primary debates, about whether he would give health insurance to someone or let them die?
I am sure they will hit up Romney with that in the main debates.
As I said on another thread the other day, Until Johnson signed Medicare into law, EVERYONE could afford medical care! Get the blankety blank gubmint out of our private lives!
When you get a job with a full benefit package you don’t have to take a physical and you pay a reduced group rate. If you are self employed it doesn’t work that way. I understand the economy of scale put don’t put me in a system where 75% of the people get insurance without concern of their precondition and enjoy an extremely reduced rate because of their numbers and me and my freedom loving self employed workers pay out the ars if we can get it at all.
