Obama's support down 25% in key demographic
American Thinker ^ | 09/11/2012 | Thomas Lifson

One group in particular stands out in its decline in support for President Obama. Oddly enough, the major media are ignoring this startling finding. Jonathan Tobin writes in Commentary Contentions:

President Obama may be enjoying a slight, if likely temporary, bounce in the polls this week. But one of the surveys showing him with a lead in a tight race over Mitt Romney also provides a breakdown of the data that confirms predictions that he is losing up to a quarter of the Jewish votes he got in 2008. The Investors Business Daily/Christian Science Monitor/TIPP Poll gives a breakdown of religion along with other demographic groups and shows Obama leading among Jews by a margin of 59 to 35 percent with six percent undecided. While that is still a majority it is a dramatic decline from the 78 percent of the Jewish vote he got four years ago.

Obama has a 46-44 percent lead over Romney in the TIPP poll. That means Obama is suffering from a decline in support throughout the electorate from his 2008 victory when he won 53 percent of the vote. But the president's loss of approximately 25 percent of Jewish voters this year is not matched by a similar decline in any other demographic group. [snip]

the TIPP poll shows him threatening to rival Ronald Reagan's modern record set in 1980 when he won 39 percent of Jewish votes, the most ever by Republican since World War One. [emphases added]

As Tobin points out, while Jews account for a small percentage of the national vote, it is concentrated in Florida, a key swing state, and could be significant in Ohio and Pennsylvania, if they are close.

Jewish voters are 2% of the electorate which typically break 70%-30% for the jackass party. A loss of 25% of 70% of 2% is 0.35% nationally, but would be magnified significantly in states like Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and even Nevada where Jewish voters are more than 2% of the electorate.

Obama should be down 100%.

From: http://www.grasstopsusa.com/df090712.html
(God And Jerusalem Back In Democrat Platform – Almighty And Israel Must Be So Relieved ):

Obama’s antipathy to Israel compliments his affinity for Islam and disdain for Christianity and Judaism.

The president has spent the past three and a half-years downplaying America’s Judeo-Christian roots, including absurdly asserting that America is not (or no longer is) a Christian nation. By working to de-Christianize America, Obama is also trying to undercut Israel’s strongest base of support in this country – white evangelical Christians.

D’Souza writes that if he’s reelected, Obama will no longer be content with backing the Palestinians over Gaza and the West Bank, but will seek to delegitimize the Jewish state, using South Africa’s apartheid regime as a model.

In so doing, “perhaps he can force Israel to grant a right of return with full voting rights to Palestinian refugees. If that happens, then in relatively short order, the Muslims would outnumber the Jews, with obvious political consequences. An Obama second term could be fatal for the future of Israel.”

I live in a heavily Jewish suburban township in the Philly suburbs. And the number of Obama signs is WAY down from 2008 (there were even Obama yard signs in Hebrew). It’s still early, but what I am seeing is consistent with this polling.

Indeed. This is already the liberal talking point.

Time for us to stand by our conservative Jewish freepers and help them spread the message to all that a vote for Obama is a vote against judeo-christianity

Obama is probably winning HUGE within the Muslim community. I’m not sure how that would compare to the Jewish vote, but Jews who are still planning to vote Democrat have not figured it yet.

baloney.

Obama’s 27% support among Catholics presents a huge advantage for Romney

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2924122/posts

He’s down 27% with Catholic voters.
(including LIBERAL Catholics.)
and that is a very LARGE group of voters.
including in key swing states like PA.
-
...Obama is down in EVERY demographic.
yet amazingly, polls still show him up,
by about the same amount as in 2008,
over McLame?
Dukakis was up by 14% at this point...

I still don't get why 59% of the Jewish vote is STILL going to a guy whose party and whose Administration has demonstrated time and again that they are in bed in with the Muslims.

“Encouraging Ping.”

Here’s some more encouragement. I saw on the 700 Club this morning that voter registration among Americans living in Israel has spiked this year, and there was a particularly large increase after the Dems tried to take Jerusalem as their capital out of their platform.

Apparently, there are over 150,000 Americans living in Israel. Many of them are from states like Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Nevada. They expect record numbers of Americans in Israel to vote because they are VERY concerned about the way Israel’s been treated by this administration.

Although some may know this, please let me tell others that Lifson was an early Freeper and was present in DC at the March for Justice in '98. A brilliant and very funny man, he is also a relative of George Washington. In fact, he opened the reenactment of the General's funeral at Mt Vernon on its 200th anniversary in 1999.

And please do not bother to ask what his screen name was...I do not have the authority to disclose it.

Help me out on this: Obama has lost 25% of Jews, at least a similar # of Catholics, trails Romney among indies BIG, has the same---or lower---levels of enthusiasm among party faithful, has lost a lot of "yut" vote (they won't vote Romney, but they won't vote) and even a sliver of black voters.

But we're supposed to believe he is still leading. Uh huh.

I think that it interesting that yesterday, FreeRepublic was filled by the news of the polls, today, when the polls are virtually reversed by the exposure of the demographics, there is nothing being discussed.

Just wait until the news gets around that Obama is planning to lend the Islamist government in Egypt money to buy German submarines. Many of Jewish voters may be opposed to Zionism, but I don’t think that they would want to see the US work against Israel.

I’ll see if I can find the article.

50% of the “Jewish Vote” are people who aren’t actually Jewish, but merely consider themsleves etnically Jewish.

If you look at shul-going (or even regular “temple” going), I am confident the numbers favor Republicans.
