SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Police arrested an Atlanta woman who they said pointed a gun at Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-SC 4th District, outside of a Spartanburg church Sunday.
Spartanburg Public Safety officers said Gloria Brackett, 52, approached Gowdy as he was sitting in his car at Spartanburg First Baptist church about 8 p.m.
Brackett told Gowdy to quit following her and he replied that he wasn't following her, that he was waiting to pick up a family member from church, police said.
She then pointed a gun at him in a threatening manner, according to Spartanburg Public Safety Director A. Tony Fisher. He said Gowdy backed up and took off, with Brackett chasing after him, running through the church parking lot.
Gowdy drove directly to the police station, which is about four blocks away, reported what was happening, then was escorted back to the church to pick up his family member, Fisher said.
Fisher said officers immediately began an intense and extensive search of the area for the suspect, and located her when she flagged down an officer outside of a nearby bus stop, saying someone was following her.
Sounds like she may be related to the lady I heard a Tulsa Police dispatch about this morning where her neighbor reported the woman was saying Satan was stalking her with a pitchfork and wanted to kill her.
After this incident, the Congressman should be carrying.
She is probably already a DU hero and will have a show on MSNBC soon

Corra Brackett said her daughter has mental issues and has been dealing with them for some time.
But even before I found that line, one glance at her mugshot gave me a pretty good idea of what to expect.
No, Obama knows he’s not going to win the state of Oklahoma so he won’t be spending any money or time here. He came a few months ago for a photo op to use during campaign season but any pol with an ounce of brains stayed away, knowing he was toxic to their future.
Looking at the mugshot and what her mother said, I’m more convinced than ever that these two women, separated by over a thousand miles, are related. The TPD dispatcher could barely hold back from laughing while sending the “Satan” call to the officer.

Mental illness is mean. The amazing thing is how semi-functional many with mental illness can still act.
They seem to be doing well then unexpectedly lose control. Most just quietly stop functioning due to severe depression. Others keep it bottled up inside so people don’t see it coming.
Someone seriously suggested that coherent mentally ill people be given a small signaling device, and every time they do something or think something strange, they push a button on it that increments a counter. If they push the button more than a certain number of times in an hour or a day, it automatically contacts a mental health worker to find them because they are heading for an episode.
Well it’s clear that she is an Obama voter...wonder why she was so far from her home in Atlanta? This could get interesting.
Carrying might not be such a bad idea, no matter who you are, because the (apparent) whackos are coming out of the woodwork lately, but in this case, killing her might not have been the best option.
