Addiction is a weird thing. I know a guy who couldn't give up running. He had to have his "fix" every day, rain or shine. He kept at it even after his doctor told him he was destroying his knees, until he finally did.
I know, I wasn’t kidding when I said that I have friends that have told me for 45 years that they are not addicited, yet during that almost half century I have seen them go to great lengths and risk for pot, that they would not even think to do normally.
They have put others at risk by carrying it, or seeking it when we have traveled, and the things and the people that their habit supports is the thing of nightmares, when we see 70 headless bodies discovered, or learn that traveling in our parks and forests, can be like traveling down a booby trapped trail in Vietnam.
I know two people who initially raved about their running programs and ended up quitting because it was destroying their knees and hips. Their problem: they thought they could run on hard surfaces and have no problems. Humans are meant to run on soft surfaces and not concrete or asphalt.
