A bishop is recommending that they set the alarms on their mobile phones to remind them of the new observance as part of a move to promote faith in the workplace ahead of the Churchs Year of Faith.
It comes in the week that British government lawyers went to the European Court of Human Rights to defend the right of employers to ban the wearing of public symbols of faith such as the cross in the workplace.
The Rt Rev Kieran Conry, the Bishop of Arundel and Brighton and chair of the Church in England and Waless evangelisation committee, said the plan drew on traditions of saying special Friday prayers dating back to the 17th century.
He said: I would like to invite every Catholic, especially during the Year of Faith, to pause for a moment of prayer of praise and thanksgiving at 3pm if possible, or perhaps when you break for lunch, on the first Friday of every month.
...."The exact words used are not so important as just pausing to be with Jesus in that moment. In this way you are not only deepening your relationship with him, but quietly and confidently witnessing to your faith to those around you."

Anti-Christians should get the hell out of a Christian nation.
They even have crosses on their flags.
WHEN will the British Lion WAKE UP???????
My object to that is I don’t want some Imam standing in front of legislators mumbling God knows what in their desert language. They could be (and often are) praying for our destruction for all we know.
And in western countries if you let Christian and Jews pray you’ve gotta let the mussies pray too.
Anti-Christians are bringing hell to a Christain Nation.
Oh mighty spell check
One prayer, once a month on First Friday? We can do better than THAT, can't we?
I certainly hope so! I get the bishop's point though. Good for him.
I agree, bravo for the good bishop. Still, I think dilution of the Faith by asking too little of the faithful can make us lukewarm. When Lent is reduced to fasting on Fridays, where “fasting” means a meal and two smaller meals, we have lost its purpose by not wanting to inconvenience people too much. I have heard people actually say they admire Islam because at least its adherents actively practice their religion. They have a point. Maybe we should bring back the Liturgy of the Hours.
Secularization and dhimmification on the move in socialist dominated countries.
Sadly, England used to be a Christian country.
Everyday at 3:00 pm on EWTN!
Eternal Father I offer you the Body and Blodd, Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ,
