Me too.
He may be an idiot, but he apologized for what he said, which is more than a lot of DemocRats have said in similar circumstances.
He should have had the decency to withdraw from the race so somebody better could replace him.
But he hasn’t.
Sometimes you have to hold your nose in politics, forget about being simon-pure and go for the lesser of two evils.
CLERLY Aiken is the lesser of two evils here. If we succeed in bouncing out that witch McCaskill and he hasn’t learned to keep his mouth shut until he THINKS before he speaks, we can flush him out in a primary next time.
But for now, HOLD your nose and support the guy - control of the Senate could lie in the balance.
I think he knew fully who would do the "replacing": not the rank and file, but the GOP-e. Given the likelihood that they would install a pro-abortion RINO it is understandable that he stayed in as in his mind he had no moral alternative and had every reason not to award Party perfidy toward a conservative nominee. If at this point he wins, that would be a good thing. We have no alternative but to support him, despite that he's an idiot.
As near as I can tell from nearby Tennessee, his withdrawal was an automatic loss. Too large a number were angry over the GOP abandoning him. That might be different now, but like it or not, he is most likely the best shot at ousting McCaskill.
