Krauthammer On Obama: "One Of The Emptiest Speeches I Have Ever Heard" (video)
RealClearPolitics ^ | September 6, 2012 | Ian Schwartz

Charles Krauthammer on President Obama's convention speech: "I was stunned. This is a man who gave one of the great speeches of our time in 2004. And he gave one of the emptiest speeches I have ever heard on a national stage. Yes it had cadence, and yes, there were deceptions in it, but that is not what is so striking about it. There was nothing in it. This is a man who believes that government can and should do a lot. There's nothing here that tells us how he's going to go from today to tomorrow."

O used ‘I’, ‘me’, and ‘my’ 101 times. But I think they lost count.

Great speeches of our time?

Ronald Reagan gave speechs like that, Obama
never came close.

All his speeches were empty drivel, meaning nothing
except the destruction of our way of life.

Another three point shot by Charles Krauthammer and an air ball by Zer0. I think Zer0 needs to find another game.

The problem i have with peopel like charles, hannity, palin etc etc etc all trying ot put a positive spin o nthings is becvause it artificially inlfaltes the hopes of the right- for example, they all said there was NO WAY the supreme court coukld rightfully uphold obamacare, and practically everyoen in Amrica believed it to be true, but when we awoke hte next mornign and learned the SC did infact uphold it- we were al lsimply stunned and shocked, and now these same pundits are claiming that it’s almsot over for o- that this country is so bad off that they couldn’t possiblty nominate o again blah blah blah- but to be honest, it will be absolutely sickenign and another major blow if the peopel once again fall for o’s BS and elect him again ‘agaisnt all odds’- it will e almsot unbearable- and ocne again the pundits will have egg all over their faces because they underestimated the inability of many i nthsi coutnry to do what’s ruight for this country by throwing out the unqualified office holder and putting in someoen that at the very least has some experience building businesses

This was a really poor speech. It was if Obama struck out swinging tonight on three consecutive pitches. He never put the bat on the ball once even to hit a loud foul.

“All his speeches were empty drivel, meaning nothing

Shakespeare said it best...”full of sound and fury signifying nothing”. Now if we can just get that damned spot out....

That word "empty" ... why does it seem so familiar? Oh yeah!

As I heard it the whole “plan” was alternative energy, and attack the oil companies.

I didn’t watch it, Kraut’s commentary is enough for me, but it looks to me like Obumster didn’t even hit the ball to the first down!

Charles, have some respect! It was the voice of a god, not man!

Wonder if Obama will catch a case of worms now.

This is a man who gave one of the great speeches of our time in 2004.

I defy anyone to come up with a quote from that "great" speech. There was nothing memorable about it. The only notable thing was that an unknown black guy from Chicago came out and delivered something with cadence. The 2004 speech itself was not quotable or significant.

The difference is Reagan believed In what he was saying and you can feel it. When the asshat talks you know he doesn’t believe a word he is spewing, and that anything he says, he believes the opposite - unless of course he is off prompter. Just look at his you didn’t build that comment, he really does believe that and it shows in his demeanor and tone.

I totally agree with Charles.

Also... Obama surely has access to the jobs/employment numbers that will come out tomorrow morning. Notice he didn't mention anything about "improving employment numbers" in tonight's speech.

Hmmm...
