Actually, this really surprises me. Germany has been EXTREMELY anxious to live down Hitler and the Holocaust. I would expect them to be the last country in Europe to follow this path. Normally they bend over backward not to seem antisemitic—although they go along with the anti-semitic foreign policy of the other Euro countries. But usually from the back seat.

I’m also a bit curious what the Muzzies make of all this. Do they care who circumcizes their babies? I suppose a Muslim doctor could do it, but I don’t really know what their rules are.

This was a court ruling brought on by a local prosecutor. A Muslim boy had severe bleeding following a ritual circumcision and the doctor who performed it was prosecuted in the Cologne court system.

The court ruled that a crime had been committed because the rite was a non-medically necessary surgery performed on a minor who was incapable of giving informed consent.

This has been received in Germany as an unwarranted encroachment on religious freedom and the German parliament is going to vote on a law to protect religious circumcision.

Concern over the anti-Semitic implications of this ruling are one of the main drivers for the proposed legislation.
