Guess what? God’s name has been removed from the Democratic National Committee platform.
This is the paragraph that was in the 2008 platform:
“We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.”
Now the words “God-given” have been removed. The paragraph has been restructured to say this:
“We gather to reclaim the basic bargain that built the largest middle class and the most prosperous nation on Earth – the simple principle that in America, hard work should pay off, responsibility should be rewarded, and each one of us should be able to go as far as our talent and drive take us.”

Amen to that! I believe we will have to give an account for our vote before God. That’s why I voted for Santorum. Now I have the choice between a godless democrat who believes in gay marriage, abortion, and federally funded contraceptives and person of character that promotes Godly values, albeit from a heretical sect. My choice is Romney. Now fire away!
Romney believes in lots of gods. Including himself. That’ll solve everything. Right. Barring a miracle (from the true God), we are doomed.

Pretty creepy stuff. It appears like he actually parsed it out himself. I wonder if it was on the teleprompter and he edited it himself on the fly. You can see his eyes blinking a little, as he was catching himself before he read the next line.

I find it interesting that they specifically mentioned the “middle class” in the 2012 platform but not in the 2008 one. It’s as if Rats subtly are saying there’s something wrong with using that not-God-given-potential-according-to-them to be so successful that you move ABOVE the middle class.
