‘Fed Up’ Gingrich Calls Out Media Refusal to Focus on Extremism in Democratic Platform
News Busters ^ | 9-2-12 | Brent Baker

Posted on 09/02/2012 9:06:52 PM PDT by cdchik123

“I’m frankly, fed up, with the one-sided bias,” a frustrated Newt Gingrich asserted on Sunday’s Meet the Press, citing two blatant examples. First: “Where is the outrage over overt, deliberate racism” in Vice President Joe Biden telling a black audience “if the Republicans win you will be ‘in chains’”?

Second, President Obama “voted three times to protect the right of doctors to kill babies who came out of abortion still alive. That plank says tax-paid abortion at any moment, meaning partial birth abortion -- that’s a 20 percent issue,” a position which Democrats “couldn’t defend...for a day if it was made clear and as vivid as all the effort is made to paint Republicans.”

Gingrich charged: “If the news media spent as much time on the extremism of the Democrats as they spend trying to attack us, they would not be able to adopt that plank this week.” Another guest panelist, New York Times columnist Tom Friedman, declared “I’m a Planned Parenthood Democrat on the issue of choice,” but when Gingrich challenged him to defend the Democratic Party platform support for taxpayer funding of late-term and partial-birth abortion, Friedman called it “a defensible position,” then suddenly decided “I’m here as a journalist, I’ll let the Democratic Party defend it.”

Seconds earlier during the roundtable, NBC News eminence Tom Brokaw maintained Republican opposition to abortion is antithetical to full rights for women. “I think this is the century of women,” he asserted before fretting “there is even among some Republican women out there” the view that the “party doesn’t quite buy into that yet.” He contended “the social issues are very important to women. It’s their bodies, their lives, they feel that it’s not entirely embraced by the Republican Party. That’s my own judgment.”

re: “Is Gingroach gonna have even stronger values with his next wife?”

Good Lord, man, yes Gingrich sinned, but in this case he spoke the TRUTH! He defended truth against this panel of “journalists” who probably live worse lives - and advocate no mercy for babies who happen to have the audacity to survive an abortion.

I’m not defending Newt’s wrongs, but when he’s right I think he deserves support - especially from us on Free Republic.

The Republican Party embraces the fact that women’s physical strength is pretty much concentrated in their legs, meaning, this is the area on women’s bodies that can best fight off an attacker in a mugging AND be implemented to avoid unwanted pregnancy by being easily CLOSED.

Democrats give women no such credit for their physical abilities.

How can anyone wonder why America is in decline? The President of the United States enthusiastically supports the barbaric killing of innocent human life, his political party enshrines the bizarre position into its platform and stands a good chance of being reelected. Therefore he reflects the “values” of a near majority of the population. How can such a people who openly embrace decadence expect to prosper?

Yes he sinned. He has tried to atone...just as all of us do.

I was for Newt...but now I think he may be more affective as a spokesman. As a presidential candidate his words would have been guarded (or not, lol).

He can bring things to the table that need to be said...and if he takes on the msm..they need to be a little bit nervous.

The only way to get the enemedia to do its job is for all in the GOP to coordinate around Gingrich’s message about the extremist Dem platform and all put out the same message.

They won’t do it though because they are afraid it will get thrown back in their faces, so they prefer to just let it go.

I’m sick of the pro-choice crowd and their mantra that a woman’s body belongs to herself. That isn’t what the Bible teaches:

OUR BODIES ARE TO GLORIFY GOD

A. OUR BODIES...
1. Are now members of Christ - 1Co 6:13-15
a. To be used for the Lord, not immorality
b. Otherwise we make members of Christ members of a harlot!
2. Are now to be instruments of righteousness - Ro 6:12-13,19
a. No longer instruments of unrighteousness to sin
b. No longer slaves of uncleanness leading to lawlessness
— Clearly they are not to be used for sin or self!

B. TO GLORIFY GOD...
1. By how we live - Ro 12:1-2
a. Living sacrificial, holy lives, acceptable to God

Isn’t it funny that the pro-abortion crowd loudly proclaim their bodies as their own, however, will stoop and accept tyrants telling them what they can and can’t eat?

Abortion is murder and nothing anyone says will change that. A fetus is a human being even before formed in the womb.

Jeremiah 1:5:

New International Version (©1984)
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

They can argue all they want, but the Scriptures are very clear that God knew us before we were even in our mother’s wombs.

I don't have a problem with good stewardship of our resources.

I do have a problem with the EPA...that Gingrich is for abolishing.

And what does that have to do with him tackling tough issues? As I recall he was a pretty conservative and effective Speaker Of The House. (please do us both a favor and don't post a Newt/Pelosi picture.)

JEEEEEZE!... please try to understand that the point I was attempting to make is that the liberals don’t believe women have any responsibility to avoid a pregnancy they can’t afford by the simple act of CLOSING THEIR LEGS! They’d rather you and I as taxpayers supply them with contraceptives and abortion whether it is against our beliefs or not.

Women’s physical strength actually IS concentrated in their legs, but, if such an attack as you describe (a “Hulk” of a violent man) occurs, then I would suggest that women use the brain God gave them to anticipate their vulnerability against the physically stronger male of the species and buy, train with, and USE A GUN.

“his political party enshrines the bizarre position into its platform and stands a good chance of being reelected.”

I agree whole heartedly with your condemnation of infanticide. And your cautionary note is something that has long troubled me. But one must also remember that Obama’s decisive election victory in 2008 was achieved on a campaign theme of “a fundamentally transformation of America” (exact words)! If 2008 demonstrated anything, it was the validity of a remark by H.L. Mencken that it’s impossibility to conceive of some limit to their stupidity.

I understnd your point. I wish you would beable to undertand mine. Just being a woman means one is at risk all the time. I’ll never forget what a close call I had once when I lived in L.A. - I had a toothache and got up at 4 am to take a pill - got a weird feeling - went into my living room - a man had come in the window. It was summer and I was just in underwear. I knew that he was going to jump me in the next second and it would be all over. I bent my knees (thank you, Carlos Casteneda) and let out a scream that woke the neighborhood. The guy left. The police came. I couldn’t have used a gun at that moment - I was too groggy. The scream worked. That time. But you have no idea how often random men - bus drivers, cab drivers, a neighbor...turn into predators out of nowhere. We can’t go around shooting everyone.

It would be funny at first, then go to anger over the fact that the moron in the White House has been considered the leader of the free world, then it would change to pity as you watched a defenseless child get his a** handed to him. The whole while stuttering and stammering, searching for his beloved teleprompter hoping to find an answer.

But, in the end it would still be funny.

I’ve met Callista and seen the special relationship she has with Newt. As a lifelong Catholic, Callista was instrumental in her husband’s conversion to that faith in 2009. She is much different from Newt’s first wife, Jackie Battley, his high school Geometry teacher. That marriage began on the wrong step when Newt was 19 (she was 26) and collapsed after 20 years. In 2011 their daughter, Jackie Gingrich Cushman, remembers that it was her mother who requested the divorce, that it happened prior to the hospital stay, and that Gingrich’s visit was for the purpose of bringing the couple’s children to see their mother, not to discuss the divorce.

Marianne Ginther, Newt’s second wife, was a willing participant in a six year affair with Gingrich while he was married to his first wife. I believe the marriage fell apart when Marianne became involved in an arms sting by meeting an arms dealer in Paris. That kind of publicity was not the kind Newt wanted in his political career. Their marriage lasted 18 years.

Newt is just amazing in the way he holds liberals accountable to the full logical extent of their positions. Most other people let liberals recite a nice-sounding principle and get away with it. Newt forces them to answer to the reality that principle logically implies which totally undermines them.

Like I’ve said before, Newt must be the least effective “liberal” of all time, since when he took over the House, the entire government including Bill Clinton shifted rightward. He got federal spending as a percentage of GDP down lower than it was under Reagan.

... Which is why a sensible woman should pack some heat.

If we carry a weapon, no really means NO. And it means no even if a potential attacker is armed, too. The attacker will go on his way looking for an easier target. That's why today's fathers should take the old settler approach and teach their daughters about weapons as early as possible and not confine the lessons just to their sons.

Our problem though, is that a lot of daughters these days don't have fathers because families have been destroyed by government. Funny how the Democrat Party claims to be the party of women's rights while constantly fighting to prevent women [and men too] from legally arming themselves so they can assert their own rights.

Liberals don't want people to be able to do anything for themselves, and certainly don't want women to be able to deter rapists. They want to keep everyone in fear so people will cling to the false promises of government protection and the fallback of an abortion when government fails.

The leftard womyn scream “keep your laws off our bodies!” Yet at the same time they celebrate Obamacare, which is a gov’t confiscation of all of our physical beings. Obamacare gives any President the power to appoint anyone they want to the board that approves medical procedures. As a result the government can ban abortion with the stroke of a pen. All it takes is for the political worm to turn....

Idiot leftard womyn celebrate the legislative tool to kill abortion, while accusing Repubs of wanting to pass paws that can be used to kill abortion! Morons indeed.
