purged, starting with Boehner, Rove and McCain. As much as I believe that, I don’t make jokes about them being murdered.

I agree with you.

And you raise a really good point about life in general, lonevoice. Even with difficult neighbors, bosses, co-workers, etc., I wouldn't dream of talking to others and joking about murdering them.

If Rove is on meds, then he was off his meds that night.

If you go liberal on social issues, then you will have to be liberal on the economic side.

“We should sink Todd Akin. If he’s found mysteriously murdered, don’t look for my whereabouts!” joked Rove, according to a Businessweek report of the fundraiser.

Hey, Missouri...see this?

Wonder if Poppin' Fresh feels the same way about Akin supporters? ...or Christian conservatives in general..?

As much as I detest Akin, that comment was really dumb and not productive for any cause that Rove or others may have. Rove does seem to have a knack for making those types of comments, if you think about it.

"There were talking point memos sent from the National Republican Senatorial Committee suggesting language to urge Akin to drop out. Political consultants were ordered to stay away from Akin or lose future business with GOP committees. Operatives were recruited to set up a network of pastors to call Akin to urge him to get out. Money has changed hands to push him off the plank."

But but but, we were told that Huckabee just made all this stuff up!

Romney's GOP is acting like union thugs and yet people think they're going to be some renaissance of conservative values.

Rove is the GOPe’s saboteur maestro.

He is probably behind the ruin of every
conservative from 2008, if not earlier.

Rove is a total creep...why Hannity puts him on his show is beyond me...maybe the reason I can't listen to Hannity much, because of these so called "guests"....

my hatred of Rove is about equal with Pelosi....

“The GOPe has become as disgusting and deranged as the democrats.”

The GOP is the right hand and the Democrats are the left on the same beast.

This is characterized as a joke, and it probably was intended that way, but it is in the context of GETTING RID OF TODD AKIN.

Rove's remark was rather tasteless, but his analysis of voter behavior is spot on.

There are reactionary voters on both sides of the aisle, and undecideds are particularly prone to reactionary and capricious decision-making (which is the reason Akin's comments have affected candidates in other races beyond Missouri).

What had emerged from that data is an “acute understanding of the nature of those undecided, persuadable” voters. “If you say he’s a socialist, they’ll go to defend him. If you call him a ‘far out left-winger,’ they’ll say, ‘no, no, he’s not.’

http://www.businessweek.com/printer/articles/69276-exclusive-inside-karl-roves-billionaire-fundraiser

And if you say he's a conservative, many conservatives will "go to defend him" (even in the case of someone unelectable, e.g. Virgil Goode).

Akin's political fate rests on mustering enough committed conservative, republican and anti-Claire voters to offset the knee-jerk independent and undecided voters who were alienated by his remarks.

“We have five people who are interested” in replacing Akin as the Senate candidate, Rove said. “We don’t care who the nominee is, other than get Akin out.”

I can guarantee that they don't have five people who are able to win that seat. They would throw a party hack in there who would lose big to McCaskell. Those that could win other than Akin have already said NO and wisely so.

BTW Rick Tyler, former campaign manager of Newt Gingrich, is now working with the Akin campaign.

And new commercials attacking McCaskell paid for by the Akin campaign have hit the air ways countering her Leftwaffe -- No Thanks to Rove and the GOPe.

I was referring to the convention as balanced. I followed some c-span coverage. By the way, Newt spoke and attended the convention as well. Apparently MOST Missouri gop'ers would like akins out. If he overcomes his gaffe and is elected,....well that is the will of his constituents. BTW; things arn't in sharp focus in a 'smoky back room' are they. jus' sayin......

Rove’s statements are beyond the pale. Like comparisons of Carter to Obama, Rove makes Akin look good. He needs to make a public apology immediately. What a sick pompous a**.

I don’t think people at that level ‘joke’ about murder. At a minimum, this was an attempt to reach out and intimidate Akin. At a minimum, it was intended to produce personal fear, for one’s future if not one’s life.

Rove is the face of the Geriatric Old Plotters.

They don't call it the stupid party for nothing !!! Isn't Rove considered part of the party elite?

I switch from R to I in 2006, and hang up on them every call they make.

##

It’s against federal law to threaten a sitting Congressman. He should be picked up an questioned about this threat.

“One would think Rove could better accentuate a point than referring — even jokingly — to the murder of someone. That sh*t doesn’t fly anymore.”

But it does fly. It flies directly to the target. It was intended to come across as crude and calloused as it did. It is a threat. Of actual homicide? Not very likely. Of targeted personal and career destruction with no chance of a recovery in this lifetime? Absolutely. Further, it was intended to go public, as an example to any uppity Grand Old Plantation field niggras who might be getting ideas above their station.

“Unbelievably Ignorant.”

Not from the Architect, surely you jest. I wonder if Hannity realizes how this makes him look as he fawns over Rove.

Isn’t Rove only a talking head these days? He has no Republican role does he? He had his say early on, so is it not up to Missouri Repubs and citizens at this point to decide who will represent them?
