They’re fattening up for hibernation and they get a little crazy. The problem with shooting a bear in your rumpus room is that you end up with a dead bear in your rumpus room.

There was a news item in Central Florida today (Fox 35?) that a black bear was spotted on ... wait for it ... Black Bear Lane. The anchor suggested a warning be sent to the folks on Lion Street.

We need bear welfare and wolf welfare. A bear broke into David Letterman’s house?
NBC news asked the neighbors, “Didn’t you notice anything funny at David Letterman’s house?”
“There’s nothing funny about David Letterman.”

You just need to call a mobile taxidermist.

Put him in a fierce front paws raised attack stance rather than the nosing through your fridge stance you shot him in.

After considerable thought I’ve decided that a dead bear in the rumpus room is preferable to a live bear in the rumpus room.

“The bear was naked, believed to have recently used bath salts and purple drank, and was a known gang member with several prior felony convictions. The Reverend Al Sharpton noted that the rancher was white and the bear was black, so it should be investigated by the Just Us Department as a hate crime.

“When contacted, the bear’s mother said that he was a good bear, planned to turn his life around, and that it wasn’t right that he should be killed.

“He is survived by several cubs by different female bears.”

Was the bear storing up on Skittles?

Yeah. I guess if you were having the guys over for the game you could always throw a slipcover over it and pretend it’s a sofa. That works better with a dead bear than a live one, too.

He was shot while trying to spread the food wealth around. He was an Obama supporter who believed in the re-distribution of resources.

Big fat bear, smaller homeowner. Cue the cartoon with the union pig telling the skeleton taxpayer to give more.

The parks department and Defenders of Wildlife, a conservation group, had erected a tall, electric fence around Yeagers' yard so the children could play safely in grizzly bear country, but Madel said the fence wasn't powered on Monday night.

The more important point of that story is why are tax dollars being used for his two kids to play in their own back yard? I suppose that explains his mentality for rushing out to tell the msm and the officials instead of stocking his freezer and sweeping up the broken lazy susan.

Lesson #1 to those former residents of Rio Lindy...

If you don’t want bears getting into your stuff while living in Bear country...Move out of Bear Country!

Boy, I’ll bet the US Fish & Wildlife Service is p.o.’ed. I wonder if they’ll charge him for shooting one of their precious bears?

Madel said he can only think of four or five instances of bears breaking into homes along the Rocky Mountain Front in the past 25 years.

In 2003, Yeager's neighbor and Late Show host David Letterman had a similar visit to his property.

Maybe the fence is to keep the neighbor away from the kids. My guess is the fence wouldn't be there if it weren't for the neighbor having moved in.

But the bipartisan, weirdo animal-worshiping/enviromentalist/NIMBY established folks of the West (most descended from the northeast) haven't managed to steal all of the property deeds and give them to the bears, yet. So a 12 ga. Brenneke slug or hardened, flat-nosed, heavy, .45 revolver round going around 1100 fps will do for self defense or livestock--or enough rounds from a good semi-auto rifle into the area of the central nervous system.

He was just lonely and looking for a bear hug. It turns out, the owner got a bear rug.
