In recent years a wave of new reform Governors has washed over the Midwest, but it did skip a few states. Among them is Illinois, which now has the worst credit rating of any state besides California. Voters may want to pay attention.

California and Illinois have the highest gas tax per PRICE, rather than per volume sold.

The same irresponsible, bipartisan corruption (The Combine) has been transplanted from Ill-Annoy to Washington. So, if you like the way Quinn-Madigan-Emanual run Ill-Annoy, you'll love the way Obama has been running things. So goes Ill-Annoy, so goes the nation. Buckle up!
The roots of bipartisan mismanagement are so deep, Ill-Annoy has little hope of a Wisconsin-Indiana renaissance. Hope and Change? I don't think so.

California and Illinois have the highest gas tax per PRICE, rather than per volume sold. What's more, in Illinois anyhow, virtually any other unit of government (cities, countys, townships, etc) can (and do) add an additional sales tax piggybacked on the state sales tax. And YES, it is cents per dollar, not cents per gallon. Illinois loves high gas prices ... talk about windfall profits.

There's nothing wrong in Rahmboland (Chicago) or Madiganistan (Springfield) that 1 or 2 megatons (each) wouldn't cure. The suffering citizens in 100 of 102 Illinois counties hate these Donkey pest holes.

I live in Illinois just across the Mississippi from Iowa. Whenever possible, I get my gas in Iowa, as their price per gallon is anywhere between 12 to 25 cents a gallon cheaper.
This state sucks, in so many ways.
