Still just very windy, high wind gusts; periodic rain. Nothing different than any other storm I’ve ever been in. In fact, I’ve experienced much stronger winds in Grand Junction, CO, than I have yet felt today.

I hope you keep your power. Judging by the images I am seeing, some of the heavy stuff might reach you in a couple hours. From my time living in Metairie, you’ll probably lose power. Stay dry, my FRiend.

Good that you still have power.

I’ll continue to check this thread.

Hasn't really started to rock and roll yet, probably had a gust of 60-65 a few minutes ago, but it has dropped back now to 40-50.
Power will probably drop when we get into the constant 70+, if history serves.

Yeah I still have power here in Metairie.

These government communists here make me sick. Hopefully they look like fools for hyping this hurricane to make it look like it was Armaggedon. These government idiots have been on TV constantly , usually in groups, acting like it was Armageddon and so they have to give us order and directions as we were kids. They look so foolish, they and the media. But I guess no one except me makes that connection . No one made it for the fake BP oil spill and we all on Freerepublic and conservatives do see how the media lies and then people then go back to believing their lies.Mayor landrie with his stupid New Orleans city council is the biggest idiot. Also Normand the Jeff Parish Sherriff threatened to stop anyone who left his house in this joke of a "storm" which is nothing in the new orleans area.

We constantly have thunderstorms here. A few weeks ago the street flooded because of a thunderstorm. It was because of the crappy government drainage. That thunderstorm much worse than this Isaac.

This sux big time. I feel so badly for y'all. This one is supposed to linger, but who knows?

Your power lines are much better than ours, which go out with gusts of 40. Only takes one tree to fall.

I didn’t watch convention, been watching hurricane news. Probably didn’t need to, but this is my first hurricane so I wanted to learn what was going on as I was in it. Still have normal power, but apparently many don’t. We’ll see what the night brings.

“I’ve ever been in. In fact, I’ve experienced much stronger winds in Grand Junction, CO, than I have yet felt today.”

Yep, same here.

The media and government look like fools for hyping this hurricane, making it sound like it would be Armaggedon.

Mayor Landrue , his new orleans city council and the sherrif of Jeff parish are the biggest idiots and jokes. They all even threatened to stop any of us who left our homes in this joke of storm.

Keep saying I'm going to buy a Digital Anemometer, haven't bought one yet, around $100, kicking myself in the butt.
Hard to guesstimate wind speed gust.

Ann Romney was the high light. Others ROCKED too. You did well to watch the hurricane updates. I’m very concerned about you, Cajun and everyone in the eye and on our Coastal areas in all states.

Praying for you all. Getting ready to call it night. Now watching shopping channels to clear my mind of serious stuff so I can sleep.

Wind and rain not expected here till sometime tomorrow. I told DrO to turn on the A/C before the power goes out, if it’s windy in the morning.

Hugs and my faithful prayers.

Good night and God bless and keep you.

The Mark 1 Eyeball here at Casa Jeff says the the leading edge of the main surge is about even with Lake Borgne about now.

Took an hour or so for flooding to cross the wilds of St. Bernard and get noticed in Chalmette/Poydrass/Ninth Ward back in the day. Bout the same to max in the IC and tip levees there. Word of that made it out pretty quick.

Lakeview, East Orleans, Slidell, Lower Miss, and Lake P probably haven’t seen much of the surge yet. Winds actually blowing water OFFshore right now. Who knows how long it’ll take before news of breaches around NOLA proper will take get out, but helos won’t get up till winds drop below 50. Win, lose, or draw this time, we won’t know for sure till noon tomorrow, at the earliest.

Not gettin hornswoggled again...NOLA dodged a bullet when WE say it dodged a bullet.

;-)

Good on Entergy! Local paper said (claims) Entergy has sent 4000 workers here to take care of anticipated power outages. I’ll believe THAT when I see them, provided power goes out.
