Yeah, he thinks his truck can drive through deeper water, but there’s always those darned wires running along the undercarriage. He’s on with Shemp Smith right now, which is why he had his audio off.

Hi, just checking in from Pineville in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. Glad to see you’re still here, NautiNurse — thanks for all you do to help us during hurricanes!

ABC News says Isaac just made landfall. The NWS radar shows the center as looking ragged.

A poorly formed eye means the storm is not all that well organized and wind speed will be lower, so storm surge and wind damage will be not as great. There will still be very impressive amounts of rainfall, however, so flooding will be an issue.

Hi. Isaac just made landfall. I live about 30 some miles west of New Orleans, and it looks like from how it’s tracking, it may come directly through my town. We’re fine. Winds have picked up quite a bit in past 30 min. No heavy downpours (yet) of rain. Landfall was projected to occur at 10 pm my time (so this is 2 1/2 hours earlier than expected).

We’ve got a generator in case power goes out, which it probably will from what energy rep. said. Got candles, flashlights, water.

But won’t be able to get online of course if/when power goes out.

Ty for checking. :))

I think “landfall” in this case was that spit of land at the end of the Mississippi delta. The radar has now filled in and it looks like the center will still be over water before final landfall is reached.

I hope you have accounted for the storm surge and remain safe.

thank you; winds continue to pick up, but, really, so far, it’s feeling like nothing different than just a regular storm I’ve been in. (Of course, that’ll change in the next hour or so, I think.)

thanks; we are far enough away from the coast that we should have no problem with surge. I’m more concerned about the projected downfall of rain for my area (10 - 12”).

They were saying the ‘over land’ was Plaquemine Parish, but now it’s back over water Bob Breck said (meteorologist).
