Fresh off his shout-fest with Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews thought it would be a good idea to go toe-to-toe with former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich on the same topic, that is, the GOP’s insidious use of racial “dog whistles.”
Oh, and before we go any further, it should be noted that the two actually met earlier on Monday and discussed the exact same topic. However, unlike that meeting (which was somewhat amicable), this one turned heated after Matthews flat-out accused Gingrich of engaging in “race baiting.”
“What’s a ‘food stamp president’?” Matthews asked. He is, of course, referring to a term he has deemed racist.

Thanks for posting this! Newt is brilliant as usual!!! Chrissy can’t spit and slobber his way out of it. It was a joy to watch. Romney needs to send Newt out to as many media calls as possible!

A Food Stamp President is a president who thinks that increasing the number of people on the food stamp and welfare rolls is valid way to grow the economy. He is backed up in this thinking by his economic genius conspirators Pelosi, Reid, and a gaggle of highly degreed but poorly educated East/West Coast professors.

With those SUPER EASY softball questions “What is a food stamp pres?” “Why would anybody encourage dependency?” it really looks like Newt is paying Chrissie! My God! Talk about setting it up to be swatted out of the park! My 13 year old daughter could have killed those questions. I honestly can’t believe CM asked those things.
I smell panic. Despite what the MSM claims to be a close race, they know the real score. Sheer panic.

They need to have Chris Matthews drug tested. That dude is on something; for real. He talks and acts like a Speed freak.
During the debates Gingrich fired up the audiences whenever he attcked the media. Polls have shown a large majority of the population does not trust mainstream media. Republicans would be well advised to tap into that mistrust.
