He said stuff like Homosexual Boy Scouts and Homosexual adoption. I find that much more offensive. Don’t you? Or are you a homo?

How come republicans always end up voting for the lesser of 2 evils, while democrats get to vote for the candidate of their choice?

And where has Romney stated that the Boy Scouts, by government fiat, has to do that.

BTW, last weekend, I bought a vastly overpriced bag of popcorn at a supermarket proffered by the Boy Scouts, just to show solidarity against their assault by the liberals.

Well I have to say Jedi, that you are not helping his cause...accusing good conservatives on this site of being rinos, homosexuals, illegal drug users , and all manner of libelous crap, just because your man Akin’s screw up has scared the ever living daylights out of everybody that understands the stakes and political realities for this country if we do not win the senate.

In fact, I would say you are a lead weight for Akin’ s side at this point with your vitriol. You are starting to resemble the famous shakedown antics of Jesse Jackson.

Take a break, breathe deep, pray and go after the real enemies of this republic and give your fellow patriots a break.

Because the media always backs the most liberal candidate. That’s great for Democrats and bad for Republicans. The absolute zombie-like, mind-numbing responses people gave when asking why they voted for Romney in the primary shows that most primary voters were led around like absolutely ignorant, unthinking sheep.

but can you show me where, Romney said such things as "legitimate rape" or that the female reproductive system shuts down during rape.

Please do not ask people to post a whole slew of videos of Romney saying worse, and worse, and worse about abortion. You won't like it.

No, a libertarian who thinks for himself.

I thought conservatism was about limited government.....not poking into other people’s boudoirs.........

PS: Unless Jim Beam and some Cohibas from Havana are “illegal drugs”, the charge you leveled is baseless.

Penelope, you’re confused. Emperor Palpatine has been raising the ire of people all over this site by bashing “socons” in the most vitriolic language and refusing to offer reasoned responses to anyone who disagrees with him. “Socons” couldn’t be greeted with a colder welcome if they signed up to DU.

Conservatism is about fighting back against godlessness and communism. Try listening to some old Reagan speeches and maybe you'll learn something.

My understanding is that Mr. Akins is a mental lightweight and only won a 3 way Republican primary because he was supported by the Democrat Party and Democrat funding. Sarah Palin backed a different candidate and most conservative groups also backed another candidate. The two conservative candidates split the Republican vote and Akins won a narrow victory by getting Democrats and to vote in the Republican primary.

Then the Democrat controlled MSM asked the dummy Akins the standard gotcha questions about rape and abortion etc and just stood back and watched him self destruct. Then Democrat money men(Soros?) promised Akins large financial contributions if he would stay in the race and not make way for a more intelligent candidate.

Claire the liberal was dead in the water. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence could have easily beaten her. But the Democrats maneuvered to get the one candidate in the entire state too dumb to beat her as her opponent.

No, First I was a Cain-bot, then a Newt-bot....

Romney’s the nominee, and compared to Zero he’s 1000X better.

Besides, Romney ain’t a commie!

You don't have to convince me or anyone that Akin's comments were ill-advised. But they were not illegal or immoral activity so the outrage from his own party is uncalled for. We definitely don't need everyone becoming little Karl Rover lapdogs who think they know exactly what candidates can and can't win elections.

Not to mention, I thought conservatives were supposed to be for local control and states' rights, not a centralized bureaucracy giving marching orders from the top down. This is a Missouri issue. Let the state exercise its rights and stop trying to force them to back one candidate or another. It's not the president's or a presidential candidate's job to select who a state nominates to be their own representative. I will back whichever Republican or conservative candidate the voters of Missouri back.

Also P-Marlowe, I was there at six o’clock in the morning on August 1, 2012, to get 4 Chick Fil A chicken biscuits to show my disgust at the queer mafia.

But it really does come down to the voters themselves, right? Are democrat voters smarter, more individualistic, or are republican voters just sheep that can’t think for themselves?

Romney is in favor of the government giving the same adoption rights to homosexual couples that is given to heterosexual couples. Don't you think we should replace Romney with a candidate that not only is a conservative but has a better chance at beating Obama?

Additionally under Romney's REPEAL AND REPLACE plan, he will repeal Obamacare on the condition that all 50 states are required to implement some form of Romneycare. So rather than one big socialist medicine fiasco, he wants 50 small socialist fiascoes.

And your panties are all in a bunch over Akin, huh?

Akin is the least of our problems. Romney and Obama are the big problems.

I understand that folks are blaring on both sides Jedi....and if we are each reflective and soul searching enough, we get when we have gone too far. But if we wait on others to relent before we even begin to reflect on our own actions, what good does that do? You and others defending Akin have had some good points but your stubborn refusal to give others the benefit of doubt in their concern for our country is not helping matters at all.

All we can do is start with ourselves. We can’t control others. This election is not all about Akin or social issues and neither is it about simply fiscal issues. It is about the whole shooting match this time....it is simply about liberty or tyranny. Pick your battles.....but we have to win the war. Our very survival as a republic is at stake FRiend.

My understanding is that Mr. Akins is a mental lightweight and only won a 3 way Republican primary because he was supported by the Democrat Party and Democrat funding.

That sounds like one of those nonsense memes that people keep repeating because it helps their cause despite them having no evidence to support it.

The two conservative candidates split the Republican vote and Akins won a narrow victory by getting Democrats and to vote in the Republican primary.

Akin is STAUNCHLY CONSERVATIVE with a far more conservative voting record than Romney or Ryan. He voted against sequestration defense spending cuts and against No Child Left Behind to name a few Ryan was wrong on. As for Democrats voting in the Republican primary, show me the evidence of that. That kind of silliness is often talked about, but rarely if ever has been proven to happen in big enough numbers to affect an election. In this case it would also assume that Akin was seen as a bad candidate by many people, even though he won 6 consecutive house terms. That doesn't even pass the smell test. So enough of compiling this unsubstantiated conjecture to try and bolster your case.

I ate breakfast lunch and dinner at 3 different Chick-fil-A's on 8/1/12.

Romney refused to comment on the whole matter saying that it wasn't part of his campaign. Later he indicated that he felt that homosexuals should be allowed in the Boy scouts. Yesterday he was bragging about how successful Romneycare was and how proud he was of his accomplishment there.

And you're worried about Akin?

Akin is one of us.

Romney is one of them.

And where did I say they were illegal or immoral?

I did not.

All I was saying was that Todd Akin made grave political statements.

Statements that were so outlandish that caused him to go from a lead to now a 9 point deficit.
