In China a sad reality exists. Children are sometimes discarded as if they are not even humans. The babies are thrown into trash bins, rivers, and lakes to name a few.

But, one amazing woman Lou Xiaoying, 88 has been a mother to many of these babies who were orphaned or discarded into trash bins.

Lou has been responsible for saving over 30 abandoned babies from dumps, and trash bins, in her amazing life. As Lou lies on her death bed, China and the world are honoring her via social media, and regular media outlets for her great contribution to human rights.

The spirit of our Lord has been expressed throught Lou’s life and Sainthood. There is no way she will miss heaven. I feel sure the Holy Spirit protected and guided her on her long life’s journey. Our finite minds cannot take it all in..God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.

Technically, you would be correct in that a belief in Christ and the acceptance of His salvation is necessary but we don’t know all the particulars about the woman’s life to know if she was or wasn’t a Christian.(The secular media loves the notion of a “good person” who was “good” only out herself, not because of any religious belief)

The other thing to remember is that God is sovereign judge and if she is to be Saved...he’ll save her from the pit. Remember what the Bible says...”He is not willing that man should perish, but have everlasting life!”

Thank you for your answer. The assumption in my question was that she wasn't a Christian as it regards whether she would achieve salvation due to her exceptional good works without acceptance of Christ as her personal savior. Your answer: "God is sovereign judge and if she is to be Saved...he’ll save her from the pit." to me, implies that God can make exceptions.

The classic Christian answer is that a single God has provided a single savior from sin and it’s Jesus Christ. And this God has stated that he is not willing that any should perish bur rather the alternative (accept salvation from the savior and live). The problem is human — it is sin in the collective not so much as individual acts of wrongdoing — a lot of helpful works can’t do away with that. Beyond those basics “the devil is in the details” and there is much disagreement between schools of theology. Does God arrange for private salvations for people who appear willing, who have a heart such that they would understand the need and accept Him. I don’t know. It’s not ruled out by the bible but neither does it spell out such situations. Anyhow, to carry this out in a cold culture, she might have been privately moved by the Lord, who as we might expect regards such treatment of infants and children to be odious even though he permits it to happen. She may have heard the gospel before and believed. I hope she has.

Anyhow, if you’re concerned about it for the sake of yourself, there is a guaranteed acceptance if you willingly receive the savior. If you are concerned enough to want it, and ask God meaning it, God will follow through.

That said, the lead sentences of this article from the American Live Wire caught my attention: “In China a sad reality exists. Children are sometimes discarded as if they are not even humans...”

LOL, the USA, having earned the dubious rank of being among the top 10 (if not 5) countries that abort foetuses (over 50 million and counting since 1973, and several millions more before that - 800,000 abortions a year* in the USA in the 1930s) both per-capita and in aggregate numbers, that sentence sounds a lot like chutzpah.

Many more abortions are committed in China than in the US, at least 13 million per year.

How do you think China enforces its "one child" policy? They don't even pay lip service to women's rights there--they send vans around to towns and forcibly drag women in for abortions, regardless of the stage of pregnancy. And if they successfully hide, and are found out about anyway, their husbands may be beaten and tortured to force them to submit. Another consequence of "one child" is that women learning they are pregnant with a daughter abort her in order to try again for a son. Or, having already given birth to a daughter, they discard the child so that they can try for a son. I'll bet most of the children this woman rescued are girls.

If you read my earlier comment again, it won’t be too difficult to realise that the point I was making didn’t have anything to do with denying China’s participation in human slaughter by way of abortion, but of the implicit moral hypocrisy in the judgment by the editor of the American Live Wire, when America’s own significant participation in abortion is not only ignored, but the deliberate non-acknowledgement also used to create a moral contrast, which only works if you assume America doesn’t involve itself in abortion.

Whether it’s 13 million a year (China’s figures) or 1.3 million a year (US figures), the numbers really don’t matter much with regard to the point I was putting across.

I don’t believe that God makes exceptions in the sense that he arbitrarily violates his own core nature. A reading of the Near death experiences of many folks suggests that Christ often snatches folks on the brink of the flames and when they recover, these folks are radically different persons as a result of their experiences. A reading of Revelation states that a final judgment will occurs and the “Lamb’s book of Life” is consulted to see if a person’s name is found therein. While the description of the event certainly is fearsome, it also shows the compassion of God. Can this man or that woman be ultimately saved? Can God see just the thin whispers of Christ in some poor pathetic soul? Is another soul a bent reed that shouldn’t be broken or a glowing ember that shouldn’t be snuffed out?

God is the sovereign judge and while there are those who will enter the lake of fire, there will be others saved, “literally by the skin of their teeth”. The Bible is very pointed as to what happens to those who have been exposed to the truth and have rejected it. It is not so clear from the Bible as to the final disposition of those who never heard the truth and had a choice; yet who may have lived a life of compassion and decency as though they had followed Christ (but had never known the name of the one they were following).

The Bible says God has revealed himself through-out nature and creation and men with some thought and with due diligence can begin to comprehend God’s attributes and rules of behaviour, so that none of us is without excuse.

Only God the Father alone can judge folks who, while never knowing the name of Christ in life, may yet find, at the end, that they have found themselves to be claimed by Christ. Christ said many would call him “Lord, Lord” yet it was those who did the will of the Father who would be saved.

Make no mistake, the evidence of the existence of God and his higher truths are all around us. The word of Christ has gone out to all the nations. The Holy Spirit even now will tug at the conscience of every human being, though for each person that may be for a limited season depending on that person’s responsiveness to the Spirit. When each person gives a final account to God of his life, the excuse “I didn’t know” will be a very difficult defense to mount!

Worth repeating:
