Um, so, if there’s a cold wet wind, you can’t pull up your hood and walk down a street?

That’s insane. And yes, I understand that bangers, radical Libtards and such use hoods, but still.

"I think if the opposition wants to give a speech, they should able to do so without being interfered with."

That's not what it is at all. Sgt. Schultz and "Chains" are going to be live on set in Tampa with Madcow, etc. Messina/Cutter/Axelrot likely had a Journolist conference call to set all the logistics up.

But one slip from "Chains" is all it will take.

It goes back farther than that. I remember the the great unwashed at the ‘72 GOP convention in Miami. They were supposed to cause more damage than they unleashed in Chicago for the dems; but it didn’t happen. Sure there were taunts and pigs’ blood—but no riots, no injuries. The GOP’s always handled potential mayhem better.. Even so, you’ve got to wonder what kind of thinking places Biden down there. Will he be the on-the-spot go-to guy for the media? Surely, the dems have better opposition research commentators.

I hope that the Dems completely destroy the GOP convention, doing it on filmed video.

Sarah Palin has not been given a speaking slot, and the Tea Party component has not been acknowledged by the RNC, yet it recognizes the Gay Alliance???, despite the
exercise of Tea Party electoral power over the laste several years?. Therefore the GOP no longer speaks for me or reperesents my conservative view.

I will vote Tea Party all the way, and will not vote for any RINO, regardless of the the office being sought.

The Tea Party should hold its own convention, after the Dem’s hold their little fascist one.

The GOP can GTH for all I care. The Dems can wreck it, doing us all a favor IMHO.

Even first lady Michelle Obama is in on the act, scheduling an appearance on the “David Letterman Show” smack in the middle of Romney's nominating bash.

Not likely to be the same market.

That said, these clowns see no difference between their campaign and their office. Expect a few "emergency" pressers that week, that just so happen to coincide with the GOP events.

They hide Biden last week and now they are sending him out as the point man? What could go wrong? ;-)

I think these statutes are over 60 years old and were enacted to address the KKK.... Of course, it is still the Dem Party that is at fault even today for Klan like tactics and public Klan discourse. Nothing changes except the generations.

Political historians say the high stakes of this year's elections — combined with the rise of today’s 24/7 media culture — has forced leaders on both sides of the aisle to get more aggressive.

Exhibit "A" of how the corrupt MSM covers for Obama.

Obama break all past rules of decency and the corrupt MSM, as usual, excuses him because of:

The stakes of this year's election (Since when is it not high stakes? Or is it that Liberals really might lose?)

The rise of today's 24/7 media (What a transparent crock. We've had 24/7 news now for over two decades and other campaigns didn't descend to this low.)

...has forced leaders on both sides of the aisle to get more aggressive. (An utter crock that the Left always uses when they get caught, or don't really have any other excuse left. "They all do it." Bull! Show me. Cite some example rather than to generically say, "They all do it." This is classic Liberal garbage that holds absolutely no truth and only serves to demonstrate, a)there is no real defense for this behavior, and, b)the corrupt MSM will do whatever it takes to protect their love-child, Obama or other Democrat brethren.

Can we please stop with the “oversampling” meme? There ARE more dems than repubs and the over sampling is what has always occurred

Yes and no. Yes, historically more people self-identify as Democrats than Republicans, but that gap is usually something like +2 to +4, depending on cultural momentum. When a poll has Dem +8 sampling and history says that actual turnout is far closer to even, then we can clearly say that Democrats are being oversampled.

In fact, we have a reverse over-sampling effect recently in Missouri -- in what is seen as an attempt to trying to encourage a wounded Akin to stay in the race, PPP's sample was Rep +9 (IIRC) in a fairly even state.

Responsible polling outfits are supposed to normalize the raw data to turnout models, and we should be seeing more of this as we get closer to the election. Of course, a lot of it depends on what turnout model is being used, and that can be argued. Historically, Rasmussen Reports tends to be the most accurate, but there's no guarantee that this will continue to be true, if their analysts wind up missing a trend.

[Your Wiki quote]
Without losing any seats, the Republicans took open seats in Alabama, Alaska, and Florida, and defeated nine incumbents: Herman Talmadge (D-GA), Frank Church (D-ID), Birch E. Bayh II (D-IN), John Culver (D-IA), John A. Durkin (D-NH), Robert Morgan (D-NC), 1972 presidential nominee George S. McGovern (D-SD), Warren Magnuson (D-WA), and Gaylord Nelson (D-WI).

That was a glorious night, I was absolutely transported with joy when I saw those pains in the ass go down, especially McGovern, Proxmire, and Gaylord Nelson. What pompous *** holes!

And when I saw Reagan not only winning, but running away with it in a monumental landslide, full payback for 1964, I beheld the panjandrous talking heads on NBC, ABC, and CBeeEss beaten down, crushed, exposed, shown to all the world for the skulking, slinking, scummy, lying b*stards that they were (and are!), roasting in the white-hot glare of Ronald Reagan's glory, sizzling and crackling and squealing like pigs in hell.

God, I loved it.

Free bread and circus for any SEIU person who shows up. Watch for the professionally printed signs and the trash that’s left behind at the end of the day to know for sure.

They’re spoiling for a confrontation and I hope our folks are smart enough not to give them one.

TV stations don’t show unruly fans at sporting events any more. I hope they adopt the same MO here. But I doubt they will. Chances are they’ll show a split screen. The decorous speeches inside the convention and the angry, snarling mob outside. The one saving grace is that the weather outside might not be fit for man nor beast, so that will keep the mobsters at home.

Turn about is fair play and there are a lot of conservative folks near Charlotte who could crash the Dems big party. But the news media wouldn’t give them the time of day, so why bother.

I hope the dem protesters keep their violence in check. The mayor of Tampa tried to suspend the 2nd amendment but the governor shot that idiocy down.

I hope those obnoxious protesters also realize Florida has one of the most liberal - in a good way - reciprocity laws in the nation. Citizens from other states can legally carry in Florida as they do in their home states. And to top it off, Florida has Stand your Ground laws for people who feel threatened.

For their own safety, the idiots better be peaceful.

The administration is fishing for something to happen to Biden that they can use to build the case for those right-wing tea partier extremists. It may be beyond fishing. They may have set the hook and are merely waiting for the right time to show the United States a little staged event of some sort.

The country will be very sympathetic toward Biden should something happen. He is, after all, the nation's first special-needs vice-president.
