(Democrat, MN) Rep. Huntley: Gauthier 'a child molester'
Duluth News-Tribune ^ | August 22, 2012 | Brandon Stahl

Duluth Rep. Tom Huntley said today he strongly opposes Rep. Kerry Gauthier’s decision to stay in the race for re-election to the Minnesota House and called his DFL colleague “a child molester.”

“It will hurt us in every race in the state. (Republicans) will try to imply that we’re supporting him,” Huntley said. “As far as I’m concerned, he’s a child molester. And I realize that it’s not illegal what he did. … But I think one needs to consider the ethics of the person, and do you want someone like that in the Legislature?”

Huntley said he believes the DFL should withdraw its nomination of Gauthier and “kick him out of the caucus.”

Tom Huntley is Gauthier's Duluth DFL colleague in the Minnesota House. His language is, frankly, extraordinary.

Good for Huntley.

I realize that it’s not illegal what he did.

That's a true statement. It's legal for anyone to do anything, given consent, with another person over age 16, and for Democrats it's not even an issue with the mainstream news media.

Extraordinary is a great way of putting his words.

I can’t recall ever seeing Democrats criticizing Democrats in such a fashion before. They’re really angry. And they ought to be.

Isn't boy bugging part of the lefts agenda? You'd think they'd be more supportive. In fact, you'd think he'd be used as a role model for the public school kids.

I can’t recall anything like that either. The GOP in Minnesota should tie every democrat to this guy that they possibly can, and he likely knows they will. Show this creep pictured with other lawmakers running for office in ads.

Staying in the race takes some brass something or other. Sex with a 17 year old at a rest stop from putting an ad on Craigslist? Sickening.

Rather astonishing that it is being ignored nationally for the most part and rather astonishing to see this type of verbiage being thrown at this pervert by a fellow democrat.

Someone needs to dig up pictures of him with Sen. Klubacher. She was only polling 55% for her reelection against a relative unknown. Let the GOP try in MN what that Rats are doing in MO.

They had a really good chance to take back both houses of the Legislature this year. The Minnesota GOP has gotten its act somewhat together, and this Gauthier clown will hurt the DFL in most races races outside of Minneapolis and St. Paul. There’s now a reasonable chance we can hold on to the Legislature.

Another interesting tidbit from the article

Dayton, who said he was a long-time friend of Gauther, characterized his conduct as “a terrible mistake.”

I would make that quote sting.

Anjd yet he did it in a public place blatantly enough to be caught. Can we not send children into restrooms unless we first ensure that there is no sexual activity going on?

And after seeing the guys pic I doubt any 17 year old would have sex with him UNLESS money changed hands. A lot.

Folks in Duluth and da Range would cast a vote for Charles Manson if he had a DFL sticker...

The incident didn’t occur in a restroom. It has been reported that the area where it did happen is a well known hangout for such people. If you’ll pardon the expression.

Sadly, you are right. Democrats, in particular, will vote Democrat no matter who the candidate is. He could have murdered or raped someone and he could still win because the Dem voters walk into the booth and push the "Dem" button, period.

Bingo! I suppose the kid lied because he himself did not want to be charged with prostitution.

I’ve always wondered why. The range especially has a lot of socially conservative people who are hunters, outdoorsmen and who love their guns. Why they vote like automatons is a mystery to me.
