He is a conservative, the only Missouri Right to Life endorsed candidate. Try to do a little research. Free Republic used to be full of folks who knew what they were talking about. Maybe you’re the democrat mole, n00b.

Point is, Akin is hurting the right-to-life movement by helping keep the Senate under the control of the Democrat Socialists. His reason? -- "I WON" (has a familiar ring to it).

All true. And, as such not in the romney or scott brown camp of pro-choice "conservatives". When this broke, my first inclinations was to call up romney and tell him to shut up and quit nationalizing the MO senate race. Too late, and in chimed scottbrown (also from MA).

WWRHD?(What would Reagan have done?): He would have, if asked said: "People of conscience have very strong feelings about abortion. I believe that life begins at conception and that that conception should be a wanted and loved child from consensual parents. If it is your daughter, sister, mother or wife who is raped, it then becomes a non-governmental decision whether to terminate any pregnancy that results from this heinous crime. The case of rape is specific. The liberals think that ANY pregnancy should be just an option not a life, and that the govt. should provide paid abortions on demand with abortion used as a contraceptive. Simultaneously they defend and support rapists by eliminating their progeny with no consequence to the victim- really two victims in the case of a child. It cannot be both ways. Our position is quite clear- no federal support of abortion, period, and the state's laws should govern the legal basis for safe, limited abortion."

That would be Reagan conservativism, in my opinion.

Thanks for your comment. After reading yours and other posts, I realized that Akin represents his constituency - which is the whole point. Sorry if I jumped to other conclusions. I’ve only been here two years - a noob but not a rat, thank you.

False. In the primary, John Brunner was endorsed by both Missouri Right to Life and National Right to Life.

Sarah Steelman was endorsed by Sarah Palin and right to life groups.

Yes, Akin is a conservative, but is also a guy with foot-in-mouth disease who needs to be put out to pasture before he infects other candidates and makes them lose their races as well.

“Try to do a little research. “ Irony!
