If you are even slightly awake about the world news today, it is no surprise that Christians are being killed, raped, and brutalized throughout the Islamic world. However, there is a place where you can go to escape the dreadful and relentless details of Christian annihilation by Islam. You can just go to church.
For example, Christians were killed this week in Nigeria. Nothing out of the ordinary -- indeed, in the world of Christian persecution, this is routine.
And so the response found in nearly every church to the murder of Christians is...wait for it...complete silence. Not a mention or reference to it, or to the brutality against Christians that happens almost every day in the Islamic world.
This is not a passive silence, because if you try to change it, you will fail. The silence is an active, working conspiracy that goes throughout nearly all of Christendom.
Take a simple example: prayer for the persecuted. Christians should demonstrate courage and sacrifice to support their cruelly murdered brothers and sisters.

It is mentioned in our conservative Lutheran church. We pray for those actively persecuted for the faith, that the Holy Spirit would strengthen them and keep them safe for Heaven.
The way this evil world is going, someday we will need those prayers for us and our children.

When the predominance of churches/denominations do not suffer, the absence of the Holy Spirit within them is obvious.
The lack of suffering is a witness to “lukewarm”.

A lot of it has to do with how well informed the Pastor may be concerning the persecution. Those clergy who depend on the MSM and their denominational press offices are likely to be quite ignorant.
weirdly the only media figure who made a stink about muslims killing christians, has been(dem mouthpiece and apologist) Bob Beckel on FoxNews “The Five”.... who got so riled up he had to apologize for the way he presented it.
False generalization of this kind is the sin of slander. The statement is also false, some people just go to the wrong church. Many of us mention it, also in sermons where the text address the subject directly, pray about it and warn our young people about it, as it is also more and more coming here in different forms
We pray for them every week at our church. But of course the real question to the world is this: What are you going to do with Jesus? The signs are all around us; wars and rumours of wars, false teachers, evil men waxing worse and worse. Jesus IS coming back, and soon, I believe. God has “commanded ALL men everywhere to repent” i.e. Believe the Gospel. Let us be faithful to pray and share the good news while it is still day, as Jesus said.

Most churches do speak of the persecution of Christians around the world, they just do not do so in a way that would make them seem like a news hour on who is being persecuted every day.
They spend their time preaching the word and teaching about the precepts of God. If in the course of teaching they come to a message that touches upon one being persecuted for one’s belief, then they will mention it.
Some people are under the impression that a Pastor should spend the majority of their time speaking of the atrocities against Christians around the world, but they are wrong.
A sermon is about the Word, and bringing those listening into a better understanding of it, It is also about explaining why one must be saved.
Believe me, those in church know about Christians being persecuted around the world.
I am speaking inn general terms obviously, because there are those churches who are not following the gospel, but that is another topic all in it’s own.

To be honest, if they fail to point out that koranimals are slaughtering their flock then they’re nothing more than “white lies”...thus..lukewarm.

2) the pastors in the denomination
3) The pastors in related denominations
4) reports of missionaries and their trials.
Some of us as church have done mission work in places like Nigeria for over 100 years and these issues are not abstractions.

The more serious issue, is teaching young Christians to expect growing persecution, also violent forms of it, for the confession of Christian doctrine whether it be from Islam for confessing the trinity, the death and resurrection of Christ (all of which are denied by islam) or the Biblical principles of marriage the target of GLTG. They need to be taught what and where they differ from islam and others and understand what the Bible says about it.
They also need to be warned for their own protection. Yes, that does include some times graphic details of rape, torture, murder hatred, and abuse suffered by Christians for being Christian both in the world and increasingly in North America.
Where the bible is systematically preached the issues concerning persecution and the faith come up regularly in scripture. Jesus said ," ...Ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake." Matt. 24:9. The USA, Canada or other nations were not excluded from the list "all nations."

It was mentioned at my Catholic Church. My priest has joked about the fact that he preaches with the Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other.
They’re probably just too busy with the “appreciating sodomy” ministry.
I think we have missed the joy associated with suffering, running from it as if from an enemy: "The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name."
Paul was very loving, yet he could have been very bitter because he suffered much more than most. He spoke to faulty churches with confidence that they were "beloved", "saints", "redeemed", etc.
Why? How? Because "it is by grace you have been saved..." A pastor friend of mine died recently. He asked for support ONCE a year, from those "God gives us". He used to say, concerning his mission work, "I'll do the work and we'll all split the rewards" (in Heaven).
Jesus ministered to me through that brother!

This is the wisdom of our God unto spiritual maturity.
I’m still rubbing sleep out of my eyes but I can’t see anything wrong with that approach.
