Woman Becomes First Openly Gay General
The New York Times ^ | 8/12/2012 | Matthew L. Wald

WASHINGTON — An Army officer being promoted to brigadier general openly acknowledged her homosexuality on Friday by having her wife pin her star to her uniform, thus becoming the first openly gay officer of flag rank in the United States military.

The officer, Brig. Gen. Tammy S. Smith, 49, a 26-year veteran of the Army, was promoted in a ceremony at the women’s memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. The star was affixed by Tracey Hepner, who was a co-founder last year of the Military Partners and Families Coalition, which “provides support, resources, education and advocacy for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender military partners and their families,” according to its Web site.

The couple married in March 2011 in the District of Columbia.

My question is will Mitt Romney do anything to stop the spread of Homosexualism in the military?

I’m pretty sure the answer is no. IF he won’t, then how is he an improvement on Obama? We still have to now “tolerate” open homosexuality in military....even with Romney.

I get all warm and fuzzy just knowing we have a U.S. Army General named "Tammy".

The good General is a liar.

She entered the military in 1976 (West Point)...before ‘Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell’....which means the Army ‘Asked’. She obviously said ‘no, I’m not gay’.

In this era, she would have also been asked about gay sexual encounters, in order to get her security clearance....and lied on that paperwork.

The article says she left the Army in 1986...’because of the strains of maintaining a secret lesbian relationship’...in other words, she was violating UCMJ on a daily basis.

I know we’re supposed to be tolerant and holding hands, now; but, should she really be rewarded for her lack of integrity?

50 years ago she would have been the “old maid” aunt who worked as a librarian and had “special” friends. Now these weirdos are generals.

What exactly is this General in charge of, besides this new political “gay office” in the Pentagon?

Ya know as much as the whole thing has a huge “ick factor” with me, there are some women that I can see why they are lesbians.

Maybe it isn't a choice after all...

The uS has never been a “Christian country.” It was not like ancient Isreal which had an express convenant with the Creator. But we rose to a unique position in all of human history due in large part to implementation of the Christian ethics and values on which democracy and freedom depend. Those who understand that, also understand that the liberals have won, and this country now has a pagan worldview. As such, it is toast.

Or we call them “Lesbians by default” since no man would ever want anything to do with them.

No one lasts that long and gets promoted without others knowing. They contributed to a long-pervasive culture of corruption and cover-up. Leave her as a General and prosecute those who lied on her behalf for 3 decades.

Regardless of the view of conservative economics libertarians, this mess has been and is more reason for the decline of America than the blight and danger of progressive economics.

It is up to congress, they controll the code of military law.

Contol congress and you control the issue.

We need a supermajority to pass the federal marriage amendment. (prefereably one like NC)

As if they couldn't tell. I would have been more accepting of her promotion had they not brought her so called marriage into it. She just gave her homosexual comrades more ammo for their stupidity. If she thinks she's married she better think again, but she's lived a big lie this long so why quit now. I have no respect for this woman at all.

Well, the as the country continues on its ever-more rapid pace of economic, social and cultural decay, so goes the military along with it. It had at least been one of the last holdouts. First time in my life, but I’m now finding it difficult to hold any respect/support whatsoever for the whole institution, or any member who remains in it.
