For whatever reason, the GOP doesn’t think it’s in their best interest to truly define the Left for how destructive it really is in the eyes of the American public.

The GOP establishment is non-ideological -- their goal is to "take their turn". In this sense, they believe their role is to co-exist with Democrats, not to defeat them.
