Rep. Paul Ryan, announced Saturday as Mitt Romney’s running mate, is a lawyer’s son from Wisconsin who has become a genial, relentless force in Capitol Hill politics — uniting a fractured and squabbling GOP behind his plan to remake the federal budget.

He is Catholic and has cited that faith —snip— major influences on his political views

One also needs to distinguish between Roman Catholics and liberal catholics. A martian could see that Nancy Pelosi does not embrace Roman Catholic values; Biden & Cuomo & Giuliani fall into the same category.

The people you named are CINOS because they have supported abotion, same-sex marriage, contaception, Obamacare, etc.

Thank God, Ryan is not in that group!

And romney is a bishop in a cult - so it is also a major influence on his godless political views.

Is Ryan's beliefs so weak that he keeps them in his back pocket or he just doesn't know the WORD OF GOD?

2 John 1:10,11" If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him SHARES in his wicked work."

Paul Ryan’s basic description - Catholic, Midwestern, intellectual - is identical to that of my own father. I grew up thinking that Catholics were rigorous in their approach to life....but then on a train going to the South recently I met a very nice Midwestern couple - I could tell at a glance that they were Catholic - who were soooo repentant about having voted for Zero. The woman explained that she thought that “voting for someone Black would make up for what had happened in the past.” I told her she was an idiot, and she said she knew.

I'm pleased to hear that he is a person of faith. But I have one major concern which will determine how I vote in November. Will Mr. Romney and Mr. Ryan approve of Social Security recipients getting their yearly COLA (cost of living increase to match inflation?) Or will they make seniors suffer by denying them a COLA?

The Democrats froze the COLA for three years, monkeying with the formula and saying that no COLA was justified. I looked on that as a tax on the elderly.

Democrats finally approved a COLA for 2012, I believe it was 3.3 percent. If Social Security people get the COLA, then retired federal and postal employees get it, too.

Also Dems are proposing an increased tax on capital gains from 15 to 20 percent. Will the Republicans oppose?

Nice list that godless romney can 'use' to sway voters. His intent all along. Deception is the tool of evil and 'many' will fall for It IS Written but a 'few' won't.

"Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads TO DESTRUCTION, and there are MANY who enter through it".

"But the gateway TO LIFE is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a FEW find it".

Did you see the thread Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Holiness?

Incoming US President Barack Obama has won back a significant proportion of the Catholic vote previously lost to George Bush, electoral analysts say.

The International Herald Tribune quoted several religious experts saying that the swing in the Catholic vote in this year’s election may be one of the more significant political developments, despite the emphasis that Democrats have put on attracting evangelical voters.

Although Kerry is Catholic, he won only 47 percent of Catholic voters, while Bush drew 52 percent. That represented a reversal from 2000 when Gore won 50 percent of Catholics and Bush won 47 percent.

On Tuesday, Catholics, who accounted for about a quarter of the electorate, supported Obama, at 54 percent, over McCain, at 45 percent.

Thank you for posting that. I’m amazed at how much ignorance there is about the Irish-Catholic power structure in America. Well, ignorance and denial — the latter of which I can understand, because they’ve always flown under the radar and seem to like the anonymity.

How can Catholics vote for Obama? Does being Catholic mean anything?

I don’t think Catholics elected Obama.

Oh my friend if my memory is correct as a faith they are the largest voting block of the faiths their is.

They didn't just vote for Obama, they gave the House and Senate to Dem's in 06'.

How do I know?

I got to see an interview with Rahmbo and Smuckey Chumer where they said they picked off districts from PA westward to take the House. I found a map based on Faith of those districts on the web, wished I'd downloaded it. All the districts? Heavily Catholic.

The Bishops and the Cardinals are pissed off in plain English with the Sibilius mandate, they might tell their parishioner's to vote for someone who shares their values in regards to life and anti-Obamacare, even if it is not directly mentioning said candidate(s)... Heck they have already sent scathing letters to the local priest to read in parishes to let it be known they are furious with it.

In regards to voting I am sure they will remind those in their flock to vote for those that share their values, I wonder who that might be..
