The Sweet Smell of Chik-Fil-A
The Chicago Daily Observer ^ | August 7, 2012 | Bryce X. Rhodes

The unctuous and reptilian Rahm Emanuel has always reminded me of the sinister and malevolent schemer played Tony Curtis in film noir classic “The Sweet Smell of Success.” Both men specialize in backstabbing their opponents utilizing character assassination techniques such as distortion and scandal mongering. Having easy access to media figures willing to reprint the defamatory insinuations as news makes it all so simple.

It was refreshing, for a change, to see the too slick by half Emanuel stick his foot in it last week when he tried to pile on during the manufactured controversy about issuing licenses and building permits to construct a Chik-fil-A fast food restaurant in Logan Square. Emanuel jumped into the controversy after Alderman Proco Joe Moreno (1st) had publicly announced his opposition to the opening of such a restaurant in his ward. Refreshingly, in the aftermath, many voices have been raised criticizing Emanuel and Moreno for violating the First Amendment.

A manufactured controversy, approved and ordered by the Obama White House. The fix is in. “The cat’s in a bag and the bag’s in a river.”

MAYOR RAHM COUNSELS CHICK-FIL-A "It's easy to do business in Chicago when you know 'the rules,' " said Chicago Mayor Rahm. "Chick-Fil-A can open as long as it adopts 'Chicago Values.' "

(1) weekly cash pay off to the alderman;

(2) hire six of the alderman's friends who work only random days of the month,

(3) BIG AL from the Mayor's office picks up all cash in brown paper bags at CFA's back door,

(4) Train Chick Fil A staff to shoot 10-12 customers per month,

(5) Any CFA customers actually killed must be registered to vote as Democrats,

(6) $100,00 campaign contribution to Obama,

(7) free food to Jesse Jackson, Jr, who is now "convalescing," b/c he screwed up buying Obama's Senate seat.

There is only one kind of filet Rahm is interested in and it's not on a chicken.

Actually, I see Axelrod as a kind of a reverse Clark Kent (/snix).

Observe Axelrod on tv.

I just love it when Axelrod goes before the cameras——faking that wide-eyed, puppy dog expression of his——trying so hard to look “harmless.” Man, he’s good-—I almost want to give him a dog biscuit.

Axelrod is like a reverse Clark Kent, the guy who morphs into Superman.

In real life, Axelrod is a driven, demonic, power-mad Obama fixer who goes into the nearest telephone booth before a tv appearance to put on his disguise.

He comes out as a mild-mannered spokesman, anxious to show America he wouldn’t hurt a fly.

ROTFL.

I read the original article over two hours ago and got side-tracked by 'Googling' all the other juicy info in it

As to Rahm's version of 'Chicago Values' I found this great piece:

My daughters went there there today brought the rest of our family food home from Chick Fil A for our lunch.

I tried the crispy sandwich with cheese and the spicy mustard sauce.

I am not very big on fast food, but that was good food. It was fresh, and well prepared.

About 4 years ago, I went to a McDonald's for breakfast on my way to work. The entire crew working there was black, and as I ordered my breakfast in the drive through, all I could hear was hooting, screaming, and curse words. When I took bites into my Egg McMuffin and home-fries, I immediately spit them out of the car. The food was just horrible......awful.

Then I noticed they short changed me for the $20 bill I used to pay.

I went back to a different McDonald's once after that, and we left because a fight had broken out between the cashier and one of the customers.

I have not eaten at a McDonald's since.

Odd that I never see a CFA commercial. But tons of McD ones.

The crappier the product, the more marketing I guess.

Thanks for the link.

When he was on Fox, Glenn Beck once ran a pic of Rahm in a Godfather gray fedora-——it was priceless.

It never turned up online, darn it. I’d love to post it.

(Cackle) SSM suck-up Ohaha has not spoken out on the Chick-Fil-A brouhaha. ROTFL.

"Romney's numbers shot up when you supported same sex marriage. You better walk it back, buddy."

Walking it back.

"Duh, when I said I was for same sex marriage,
I certainly did not mean SSM for humans."
