They are happy because they think he’s TOO conservative to win. The fact that they think that makes me like him more.
That said, my Mom, as I mentioned yesterday on another thread, has been vehemently insisting for months he should pick Rubio. She likes Ryan but says Rubio would be the best and would be good to get Latino voters.
Rubio would have to pander to the Latino voters in a way that would drive the conservative base crazy.
I agree with your Mom. I like Ryan but I think he is a disastrous choice. I hope I’m wrong.
