Damned good choice. Ryan is solid conservative and brilliant.

Really brilliant, not like Obama.

I agree, although there appears to be some celebration by democRATs on CNN and over at the DUMP (democRATic Underground) that Romney is picking Ryan and not Rubio.

I love Paul Ryan, but I admit I thought our best chance to win would be with Rubio...

I'm just SO relieved he didn't pick Portman or Pawlenty!

Pedantic snoozefest. Heh. That’s what I was thinking. The economy is probably the #1 or #2 issue for most voters, but they sure won’t want a dissertation on macroeconomics from here until Nov. 6th.

"That's the same as asking what do you prefer brain cancer or lung cancer"

Okay. I'll answer. If those are the only two possible eventualities then I'd prefer lung cancer.

I'm not asking who you will vote for nor if you will vote. Unfortunately either Romney or Obama will be the next president of the USA. It can't be neither. Who do you prefer it be?

Do you think the dummies would act unhappy about anyone he picked?

I agree. I wonder if this is all a huge head-fake, and Romney's real pick is Rubio... ;-)

They are happy because they think he’s TOO conservative to win. The fact that they think that makes me like him more.

That said, my Mom, as I mentioned yesterday on another thread, has been vehemently insisting for months he should pick Rubio. She likes Ryan but says Rubio would be the best and would be good to get Latino voters.

Seriously? Liberals were thrilled when Reagan was nominated in 1980

I’m no insider...but I can’t help but think Rubio didn’t want to hop on a ship that he wasn’t sure is sound. He’s young and would probably go for it against somebody other than Obama (and for the real prize).

Let’s face it - Obama is one helluva campaigner and speachifier..:-(

I will not be happy with the election of either.

I think four years of Obama stopped at every turn by the conservatives I hope to elect down ticket is a marginally better choice than electing a liberal pretending to be a conservative who will be supported by the GOP for eight years.

Rubio would have to pander to the Latino voters in a way that would drive the conservative base crazy.

It’s likely Paul Ryan. I guess Romney decided he didn’t want to light our hair on fire. What a boring ticket. I like Ryan, but he won’t be exciting the crowds and getting voters to the polls.
