Unions hit Democratic convention where it hurts: In the wallet By: Robin Bravender and Anna Palmer August 9, 2012 06:44 PM EDT

The Democrats are hitting up unions — their go-to cash cows — for last-minute donations to help pay for next month’s convention in Charlotte.

The response from some big unions? Tough.

Union leaders insisted from the start that they wouldn’t help fill the piggy bank for this year’s Democratic National Convention after the party picked a labor-hostile location and at the same time made fundraising tougher by banning corporate contributions and capping individual donations. And with the event less than a month away, they’re sticking to their guns.

Labor unions aren’t slated to sponsor any official convention events, according to a recent convention itinerary obtained by POLITICO. Unions are also refusing to put up the money to back get-out-the-vote efforts they’ve funded in the past.

Heavy hitters like the AFL-CIO, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Laborers’ International Union of North America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers say they won’t be making big money contributions this year.

Other unions are toning down their convention involvement with many opting to send a few staffers to engage with union delegates. And some, like the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, have said they are sitting out entirely.

“[T]here was a general disappointment in the selection because of the non-union hotels, the non-union accommodations in North Carolina,” said Chuck Rocha, president of the union consulting firm Solidarity Strategies and former political director of the United Steelworkers union.

Relics indeed...

Seriousliy, why in the f&^$ should the Teamsters or the electrical unions support Obozo? And the UMW? Freakin' A, if the UMW endorses Obozo, the coal miners might as well de-certify their locals. Industrial union members should be up in arms at Obama putting them out of work. But the Yoonyan Thugs leading the unions have their place at the table, so they don't care.

How does the democrat party or anyone else save a few bucks?..
Get as far away from a Union State as possible..

In a Union State doing quite literally anything will cost at least twice as much.... maybe much more..
The Unions being of course PARASITES.. Vampires.. Tape Worms..
Parasites... that have absolutely no problem KILLING the host..

Killing the host is much worse than TREASON!...

My advice to the unions!

"I wouldn't take this sh_t from the DNC or 0dumb0 if I were you! Hit the DNC & 0dumb0 hard! Let em know how displeased you are with them! Riot in the streets! Occupy the convention center and refuse to leave! Urinate & defecate in the aisles! Be obnoxious! Show America how unions stand up for themselves & take control of the DNC! Be men (or dykes if you're lezzies)! That will show em!"

I hope any union or DUmmie trolls read this and take my advice! LOL!

Coal Miners’ Union Sits Out Presidential Race

FAIRMONT, W.Va.—After giving then-Sen. Barack Obama a full-throttled endorsement in the 2008 presidential election, the United Mine Workers of America has decided not to endorse either Obama or the presumptive Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, in 2012.

“As of right now, we’ve elected to stay out of this election,” said Mike Caputo, a UMWA official and a Democratic member of the West Virginia House of Delegates. “Our members right now have indicated to stay out of this race, and that’s why we’ve done that.... I don’t think quite frankly that coalfield folks are crazy about either candidate.”

Both candidates are trying to prove otherwise to voters in coal-intensive swing states. Earlier this week the Obama campaign released in Ohio the first coal-issue ad of this cycle, claiming that Romney has flip-flopped his position on coal. The ad includes comments that Romney made as Massachusetts governor in 2003 standing in front of a coal plant, saying that he wouldn’t support jobs that kill people.

For his part, Romney is claiming Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency is waging a war on coal with a slew of regulations.

West Viginia coal miners need to move to Ohio and Vote R to save their jobs.
Obama telling you that he is going to put the coal industry under.

A while ago I read about the costs of setting up a booth at a convention hall with unionized workers. For all intensive purposes, the companies who paid to rent the space were limited to arranging the literature on the table. They couldn’t even plug in a laptop into a 120v floor outlet without a union electrician at $200/hr.

I wouldn’t count them out yet. They are doubling down in Union Slavery States. There are many, many Americans who will sell themselves to the cause, for a pittance. I am trying to figure out how to avoid enslavement to the unions, myself.

For all intents and purposes, unions are little different from mobs.

I loved it. They do NOT have the money now to finance Obama’s reelection campaign in Wisconsin which could go for Romney. They spent all that money and all they have to show for it is one state senate seat. ROFLMAO....

ANOTHER INDICATOR HERE: Many are comparing this Election to 1980. I lived in the most Unionized state in the nation in 1980....Michigan. And I can tell you; the rank and file of Labor did NOT vote for Carter; they abandoned him. This year will be worse for Obama, as far as getting the Union vote, than 1980 was for Carter who lost in a landslide.

Seriousliy, why in the f&^$ should the Teamsters or the electrical unions support Obozo? “

... in the midst of the $50 billion UAW bailout in 2009, the Obama admin allowed 20,000 non-union workers to lose their pensions.

The administration is funnelling billions to favor the unions. They have changed laws to force unionization and make govt contractors be unionized. They even have tried to undermine the open shop and right-to-work states. And of course “Card Check”.

“Industrial union members should be up in arms at Obama putting them out of work. But the Yoonyan Thugs leading the unions have their place at the table, so they don’t care.”

Exactly. Unions are for UNIONS, not for workers. They are organizations dedicated to themselves first, and any consideration for workers is secondary.
