More voters than ever are now pro-choice when it comes to abortion, but just as many view it as morally wrong in most situations.
Overall, 52% of Likely U.S. Voters consider themselves pro-choice when it comes to abortion, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Forty-one percent (41%) say they are pro-life. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on July 31-August 1, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC . See methodology.
These polls are meaningless. Dozens a day come out and none are correct. Anyone that listens to pollsters is an idiot.
Okay, so you're either lying about the statistics and trying to make the article favor your view, or you're linguistically incompetent.
Who’s “you”?
wait...wasn’t it just record low a few months ago.
These polls are simple “brain washing”....just like the gay cr** on TV.
#1 we all know how “reliable” these polls are, particularly when they focus on a particular agenda..
#2 we also know that the US has a huge population of idiot sheep who go with whatever they perceive is the “popular” position. If a poll comes out that supposedly shows Americans in favor of cutting off the arms of the “rich” to even things out, the idiots would jump on the bandwagon simply because they refuse to think for themselves.
I’m curious as to if the numbers would be the same if it were stated as “pro abortion”.
Probably not.

They must have polled a bunch of women.
As it is, almost 30% of American women have had abortions.
The writer of the article.
Sorry, Seek, I didn’t mean to implicate you personally in this.

RE: Sorry, Seek, I didnt mean to implicate you personally in this.
No need to apologize. Sometimes outrage at what one reads ( I was ) causes one to write posts too quickly. :)
Well hell I’m pro-choice.i believe woman should use birth control prior to having relations instead of aborting the fetus after the fact.
This is not an issue the federal government should be addressing, nor should it be paying for it. This should be handled by the jurisdiction that issues the business license. Each “community” should be allowed to be different and determine what businesses are allowed based on zoning and licensing tools. I am against “abortion for convenience” however this continual drive to outlaw abortion at the federal level will not be enforceable, just like prohibition and the war on drugs, we will simply drive it underground into dangerous environments. We are really destroying our own “conservative” missions with this debate as EVERY piece of legislation and every conversation is derailed over abortion.
I know it’s kind of difficult.. but if you poll the ones killed during the abortion you would get a MUCH different result.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say 100% of the humans killed during abortions are pro-life.
Another indication we are on the road to predition.
“These polls are meaningless. Dozens a day come out and none are correct. Anyone that listens to pollsters is an idiot.”
Yes and no.
First, Assuming (a large assumption) the methodolgy remains constant, they do show trends, which is valuable information.
Second, I do believe the “topic” type polls tend to be more accurate than a “person” (who are you going to vote for) type polls.
Third, Rasmussen is a good polling outfit, and without the absurd bias of Gallup, etc.
Finally, this poll is unfortunate; I understood the trend to be the other direction.
“continual drive to outlaw abortion at the federal level will not be enforceable, just like prohibition and the war on drugs, we will simply drive it underground into dangerous environments. “
So? Rape is also something that probably can never be wiped out, so I guess maybe every girl should just line up for it.
More evidence of Dem oversampling in these polls!
This is irresponsible on the part of pollsters.
Have you stopped rape? Case closed!
Making something illegal does not eliminate it.
I've gotten several folk to listen to it and all of them listened all the way through. The first portion where the speaker describes the development of the infant and the most common method of murder used at each stage of development usually shocks them. Most people have absolutely no idea that the infant isn't quickly and painlessly killed but is instead painfully murdered, and in the case of saline tortured to death over a number of hours or even an entire day.
When you know the facts it's really hard to remain Christian and not start advocating ripping abortionists apart alive or burning them to death with massive injections of salt. Abortion is the issue that will trigger Civil War in this country unless it's at the very least severely limited within the next few years. The democrat party was established to defend the right of the "elite" to both control Southern society and to own other human beings. To this day it has never altered those goals and is still dedicated to eliminating the Constitution, replacing it with a ruling nobility that answers to no one, and reasserting the right of the nobility to own other human beings as slaves.
Black folks who vote for the democrat fascists are the most amazing part of the whole abortion issue to me. I can't imagine people voting for the descendants and heirs of the very same people who enslaved them and are actively engaged in ethnic cleansing intended to eliminate the vast majority of black folks. If that's not a form of demonic incited blindness, nothing is. JMHO

Sorry to hear that you don’t believe in the self-evident truths of the Declaration of Independence, the stated purposes of the Constitution, or the Constitution’s explicit, imperative requirements.
Other than the supreme unalienable right, the right to live, which other of our rights do you think are up to localities?
That is not so. If it were so, they would allow us a referendum vote on the issue.
Be careful, you will pull a muscle stretching so hard!
The religious right has no more authority or inside enlightenment to dictate such a difficult issue as the left wing nut jobs have to dictate bans on guns. Our system is based on compromise solutions that balance individual freedoms and liberties with those of public safety and values. Banning late term abortions is absolutely the right thing to do but I will NEVER support an outright ban on abortion that would exacerbate the already difficult decision about abortion. Contrary to what you may believe, not everyone that faces a decision about abortion is a reckless heathen, it is not a true/false decision. For example, I will NEVER support any law that would DEMAND that a 14 year old rape victim bear a child resulting from that attack. This self righteous positions taken by all sides of these issues is destroying the confidence the country had in itself.
I am confused by the results of this poll. Usually, Rasmussen is more accurate than other pollsters He probably just had an anomaly in his sample.
I assume you mean clinical abortions. Most birth control pills are abortifacients - ie they allow conception (the human life begins at this very moment) however prevent implantation. ERGO - there are countless babies that are aborted/killed via the Pill. Ironically, there are millions of women who take abortifacients that state they are pro-life...mmmmm?
I think polls like this are bogus because more than 90% consistently agree that Partial Birth Abortions & late term abortions should be outlawed.
Since the Gallup poll was probably adults and Rasmussen is likely voters, the only way to reconcile the two is that people who don’t vote are more pro-life than people who do.
