President Obama is not a fan of America’s suburbs. Indeed, he intends to abolish them. With suburban voters set to be the swing constituency of the 2012 election, the administration’s plans for this segment of the electorate deserve scrutiny. Obama is a longtime supporter of “regionalism,” the idea that the suburbs should be folded into the cities, merging schools, housing, transportation, and above all taxation. To this end, the president has already put programs in place designed to push the country toward a sweeping social transformation in a possible second term. The goal: income equalization via a massive redistribution of suburban tax money to the cities.
Obama’s plans to undercut the political and economic independence of America’s suburbs reach back decades. The community organizers who trained him in the mid-1980s blamed the plight of cities on taxpayer “flight” to suburbia. Beginning in the mid-1990s, Obama’s mentors at the Gamaliel Foundation (a community-organizing network Obama helped found) formally dedicated their efforts to the budding fight against suburban “sprawl.” From his positions on the boards of a couple of left-leaning Chicago foundations, Obama channeled substantial financial support to these efforts. On entering politics, he served as a dedicated ally of his mentors’ anti-suburban activism.
The alliance endures. One of Obama’s original trainers, Mike Kruglik, has hived off a new organization called Building One America, which continues Gamaliel’s anti-suburban crusade under another name. Kruglik and his close allies, David Rusk and Myron Orfield, intellectual leaders of the “anti-sprawl” movement, have been quietly working with the Obama administration for years on an ambitious program of social reform.

If you think this is the work of Obama, you haven’t been paying attention for the last two decades. The socialists and urban planners have been dreaming this for decades. Read up on smart growth and suburban sprawl. Couple this with the lunatics whole think too many people populate the planet and an elite that buys into this and you have a grim future.

For many years federal and state government regulations have been piling up to make it more and more difficult for a traditional small family farm to stay afloat.
I have always thought it was more than a coincidence that stringent regulations were forcing these really small farms to shut down.
My grandparents had to shut down their small dairy farm and give it up because the renovations and equipment the government required for the cows and to handle and store the milk would cost more than the farm was valued at.
And the government environmental people were making them shut down the spring fed water cooler where they had always cooled and stored the raw milk. In their younger days they sold raw milk, cream and butter direct from the farm to the consumer but of course the government (working hand-in-glove with the big dairy co-ops) put a stop to that.

This has been in the works for a lot longer than the two decades you mention.
They want to tax and regulate all of us into the cities.
And keep making our money more worthless, and more people on food stamps and unemployment.
So we can be dependant on the government.
Can you imagine how they could control the masses just by shutting off utilities for a couple of days in a densly occupied part of a city?
Some of those giant apartment skyscrapers must have thousands of people in them.
A couple of days with out elec, gas etc and people will get pertty antsy.

Sure, all modern socialist ideas have their roots in beliefs way before two decades ago. But the fact is they have been actually implementing them only recently. They are tearing up perfectly good roads to put jetties, bumps, and bends in them along with bike lanes to make them undrivable. they are actually getting Caucasians to have fewer children. They are elevating bugs above development of natural resources. They are actually making progress after sane people put a deaf ear and blind eye to their activities. They are zombies. Obama didn't invent this crap. His leftist handlers are using him to speed up the program.

I rarely buy political books (FR is a very complete source) but my copy of this one is in the mail from Amazon.

Yes that means saving now, selling off crap you don’t need now. Learning how to barter, find good deals on Craigslist.
I traded an item I paid 120 for a couple years ago, it’s value went up to about 300 since then, and i traded for something I needed that was worth 500.
If you are curious to see our intended future, go to Google Earth and look at the massive apartment blocks in any Soviet city. Equal housing for all.

I wasn't talking about the roots of socialist beliefs, it's a known fact that they have been implementing their agenda from the very beginning way back in middle of the last century, accelerating in the sixties.

Reminds me of what they have tried here in the Ozarks in the last 20-30 years.
In the mid 90’s it was called Ozarks Biosphere Reserve and then they tried again just a few years ago but just renamed it.
Guess they didn’t get the message the first few times. A search about Ozarks Biosphere or Ozarks Land grab is eye opening.
This is behind the elimination of “family farms” as they are bought out by large conglomerates, and melded into mega-farms, or to put it plainly “collectives”.
The whole reason is control. It’s much easier to control the sheeple if they are in centralized FEMA camps which comprise complete cities. They are then totally dependent upon the government for heat, light, food, ..... everything!

That's exactly what's going on in Arizona. HUD relocation programs are moving people from the ghettos as far away as Cleveland and Detroit to vacant/foreclosed home in the metro Phoenix area. This has been going on at a very rapid pace over the last couple of years.
How is it working out? Has the crime rate moved upward, or not?
All Obama has to do is bring famine to our country and place the federal food distribution outlets where ever he wants us to go.

While the dreams of the planners you cite were a 19th Century idea akin to the "company town," this specific plan to regulate suburbia out of existence was initiated into America pursuant to the Rio Summit Agenda 21 document signed by GHWB in 1992.

It’s not Obama. It’s what’s behind Obama. Obama has to go, but the major tools of the Left to accomplish their goals are the U.N., and a complicit establishment Political class in our government. Get rid of the U.N., and flush the Congressional bowl of the Left including the establishment RINO’s, and tear down the Leftist empire of unconstitutional Executive departments, and supporting bureaucracies, and the Left will have to come up with all new tools. Meanwhile we turn our Nation back into OUR Nation.
BLM, Forest Service and Park Service are some of the worst on this. Those organizations are filled with idiots that have no common sense and lawyers, but I repeat myself. Example is the fight over Tombstone’s water source. Another was the Biscuit fire in Northern California a few years ago. In a wilderness area from lightening and Fed refused to allow chain saws and motor vehicles to fight it. Destroy a 500,000 acres of timber. When they wanted to use helicopter with water buckets they had to treat the water first with Clorox (18 wheeler loads) because of a reported disease in the Port Orford Cedars (which were burning).

I have been thinking of this issue since I read the article on Rush and listened to Levin’s show the other night.
I was trying to think of how these policies would be implemented. The only thing that I could imagine it that the old time-honored standby: let the vandals loose to loot and pillage the countryside. Withdraw law enforcement from the rural areas that these policies would be supported to depopulate the countryside.
Only wealthy with security (read standing armies) would be able to stay in the countryside. This is becomeing more and more like 18th and 19th century England when the lands men were run off and the lands reverted to the nobility and gentry.
We are paddling way backwards folks.
