A deal in the desert for Senator Reid? (Is Sen. Reid a Felon?)
LA Times ^ | Jan. 28, 2007 | Chuck Neubauer and Tom Hamburger

Posted on 08/05/2012 8:34:52 AM PDT by yoe

BULLHEAD CITY, ARIZ. — It's hard to buy undeveloped land in booming northern Arizona for $166 an acre. But now-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid effectively did just that when a longtime friend decided to sell property owned by the employee pension fund that he controlled.

In 2002, Reid (D-Nev.) paid $10,000 to a pension fund controlled by Clair Haycock, a Las Vegas lubricants distributor and his friend for 50 years. The payment gave the senator full control of a 160-acre parcel in Bullhead City that Reid and the pension fund had jointly owned. Reid's price for the equivalent of 60 acres of undeveloped desert was less than one-tenth of the value the assessor placed on it at the time.

Six months after the deal closed, Reid introduced legislation to address the plight of lubricants dealers who had their supplies disrupted by the decisions of big oil companies. It was an issue the Haycock family had brought to Reid's attention in 1994, according to a source familiar with the events.

If Reid were to sell the property for any of the various estimates of its value, his gain on the $10,000 investment could range from $50,000 to $290,000.

It is a potential violation of congressional ethics standards for a member to accept anything of value -- including a real estate discount -- from a person with interests before Congress.

What was Dirty Harries part in the insider trader scandal? Did he make legislation that started the movement?

Lets not forget the Nevada Senator from “The Godfather Part II” You know, the one who shook down Michael Corleone and was then blackmailed in turn with the dead hooker.

The reason why none of these politicians do not get prsecuted is because a large number of them do the same thing. These politicians know that their ‘investments’ and sleazy deals will fatten their wallets alot more than the $175,000.00 they make legally. Denny Hastert came into office with a net worth of $170,000.00 and left office with $11,000,000.00. Every American should read the book, ‘Throw Them All Out’ by Schweitzer.

In addition to being the scumbag bully we've all come to know over the years, it's important to remember that Reid really isn't very good at it.

You can tell he was probably bullied as a kid, growing up in NV during the heyday of mob control, that he wanted so badly to be a "good-fella," someone connected, with power, to get back at the people who bullied him.

But it seems that he never really mastered the art of being a bully. Sure, he has power and wields it like a club. But he is so inept when he does it, it would be funny if not for all the lives he ruins.

The best example of this was when he tried to extort Rush Limbaugh's broadcast stations through his syndicator, threatening the FCC licenses of the stations who carry his show. He actually sent a threatening letter to Rush's syndicators on Senate letterhead! The threat was unmistakeable.

Rush, being a media genius himself, turned it around on Reid. Rather than knuckling under to the extortion, Rush went public with it, and even turned it into a media event, forcing the hostile media to report it. He actually put the extortion letter up on Ebay and auctioned it off for charity. Then, he matched the winning bid to the charity!

Reid, the inept scumbag that he is, tried to make the best of a bad thing, even though he had the full cover of a compliant media... He had the nerve to try to claim some credit for the money donated to the charity!

"Dingy" Harry Reid is really a piece of work.

Mark

That’s why Hastert came to the defense of William Jefferson D-LA, Hastert was afraid that eventually the attention would turn to him.

The American people are being robbed right before our eyes and there is nothing we can do about it except elect different robbers.

This is why they do it, because they have no fear.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

He’s a pedophile rapist. But, I can’t prove that conclusively.

Well. . the word's out on that. . .so we know he is.

Is Sen. Reid a Felon?

No doubt. Proving it will be problematic.

I thought that there is a recent item (today) about Reid using his position to help his son do business in Red China.

he's a democrat. Rules and laws don't apply to them. Only to us proles.

We're still stupid enough to believe the rule of law applies to us.

Look at the FACT that you really don't "own" your property. Anytime a federal/state or local bureaucrat wants your land/home/condo all they have to do is raise taxes on it till it's unaffordable to stay. Try not paying your taxes if you don't believe me.

They (government) can MAKE you sell at a price to their liking and has the enforcers with the balaclavas and stun grenades ready to shoot your dog and kill you and your family in the middle of the night if you resist.

you can't drink or do drugs and drive but Kennedy's, Gores, and all democrats can and even stay in Congress.

Your kids and conservative's kids (Bush daughters) can't drink under age but liberals and democrats kids do so with impunity (remember the Chelsea Clinton photos).

You can't own a weapon in DC but a liberal writer for the Washington Post can.

You can TRY to use the excuse that your IRS taxes were screwed up by Quicken, but you'll end up in prison, broke or homeless while a democrat/liberal can end up Treasury Secretary.

You need an ID and birth certificate to play Pop Warner football, USTA tennis, Little League baseball .... but not to be president of the USA.

The grades and transcripts have been released as well as writings for most candidates in the past including high school but if you're black and liberal and above all democrat.... you can become the most important chief executive officer in the world.

If you admit to using cocaine, marijuana and lying about it as well as spitting in food your job prospects and security clearance might be difficult to attain.... unless you're a liberal and democrat.

My point is IT DOESN"T MATTER ANY MORE. With the massive voter fraud, the liberals use of the FBI, ATF, EPA and IRS to crush the opposition we are screwed.

I've said it before and I am serious, I want the SHTF scenario to play out. Complete loss of fiat money, collapse of banking, and Darwin's playground rules.

I'll just pull out a sofa, get some popcorn and watch the parasites eat each other. There is nothing that is going to make me happier than the liberals meeting the business end of the feral gangs that they've created in the "great cities" of San Fran, LA, Chicago, NYC, Seattle, Philly, Miami, Houston, St Louis, New Orleans, Memphis....etc.....

Lead, food, water, medical supplies, gold and work ethic. I say let Reid and the dems ride the train off the tracks cause we're almost there with all the parasites going on disability.... just like former Congressman Stupak.

Very good, you knew the answer. We need people in Washington that are for America and not just for what they can get for theirselves.
