Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. is suffering from debilitating depression and even collapsed at his home in Washington two months ago, his wife said in an interview published Saturday that revealed new details about his secretive leave of absence.

Sandi Jackson, who is a Chicago City Council member, told the Chicago Sun-Times that contrary to rumors, her husband did not try to kill himself and was not being treated for alcohol or drug addiction.

"No, no, none of that is true," she said.

The Chicago Democrat and son of civil rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson has been off the job for nearly eight weeks. Throughout that time, his office has released little information, and only revealed his whereabouts a week ago, when Jackson was transferred to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

Depression is a very hard thing to deal with. Whatever his politics are makes no difference. I hope he gets well soon.

It is really hard for the children in a family that have been handed everything. Jr. needs to get over it.

With you on this one. Clinical depression that severe takes a long time to recover from and is a living hell. And even when he’s relatively stable again, he’s going to have to very careful, doesn’t take much to run out of gas and relapse again. It’s simply not something to wish on anyone, regardless of their politics.

Yeah, depression is bad. But is that the real story or the cover story? Is he depressed because he was about to be indicted?

Let’s see now.

He collapses in DC

Is said to be in some sort of facility in Arizona

Then all of a sudden, he is in Mayo Minnesota.

Something is just not right about this sequence, nothing. For all we know he might be at Mayo Jacksonville. But then again as racially biased the whole clan is (no pun intended), why would they have anything to do with the color of mayo?

Either he:

1. OD'd, or
2. Was poisoned to make room for another Chicago pol.

Not many other choices. I don't believe this "debilitating depression" stuff.

In any case, he should resign from office.

Having red ‘Shakedown’ by Robert Timmerman years ago. It’s heartening to know that Jesse Jr. will never be 1/10th the race baiting hustler, extortionist, shake down artist and thief that his daddy was in his prime.

If Jesse Jr. ever gets out of re-hab. The best he can hope for is Ward Healer or ACORN front man.

Every Mayo is a Clinic. The people I know who work at the one here call it Mayo Jax.
