Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. is suffering from debilitating depression and even collapsed at his home in Washington two months ago, his wife said in an interview published Saturday that revealed new details about his secretive leave of absence.

Sandi Jackson, who is a Chicago City Council member, told the Chicago Sun-Times that contrary to rumors, her husband did not try to kill himself and was not being treated for alcohol or drug addiction.

"No, no, none of that is true," she said.

The Chicago Democrat and son of civil rights leader the Rev. Jesse Jackson has been off the job for nearly eight weeks. Throughout that time, his office has released little information, and only revealed his whereabouts a week ago, when Jackson was transferred to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

The medical dictionary calls it the post-would-be-senatorial syndrome. Be wary of it if you’ve been born privileged. Some of the Kennedys suffer from it.

Some of this depression cover story could be true. I read that he had what I presume is gastric bypass surgery some years ago. Although absolutely necessary at times, any surgery to deflect or rearrange the natural path of organs or vasculature causes depression, and the surgeons know this. That's why they put the patients on antidepressants immediately after cardiac or gastric bypass surgery. It's a given. Combined with his lefty liberal mindset, his Chicago crooked ways, and his radical relatives, he could have been on a whole chemical stew of mood elevators and downers. That stew can make you suicidal and/or can kill you. His lifestyle can lead one to conclude that he probably did mix his pharmacopoeia with cocaine or alcohol and arrived at this crisis two months ago. He most definitely did collapse two months ago, and was probably near death. The question remains whether he did it accidentally or on purpose. His wife and relatives will only remember what is convenient.

JJJ is doing this all for naught, b/c voluntary intoxication is not a justifiable defense to any intentional crime. BUT, and it's a big butt (LOL), JJJ is a Chicago politician. Nuff said.

This is all liberals talking - which means everything they are saying with regard to Jackson is almost certainly untrue.

It's probably just some sort of overdose ... drugs, or maybe "contrition"?

Does this mean that JJJ will soon have a guided missile frigate named after him?

His ‘depression’ stems from the fact that he is on the cusp of being indicted for soliciting and bribing a sitting govenor for a senate appointment. This grownup is like a cornered rat and so he reverts to acting like a child. This is a feigned tempertantrum. He should go to jail for a long, long time.

Pity, they can’t get their asses assassinated any more, so they have to find new roads to martyrdom!

He could have started listening to Rush, seen the error of his ways and the resulting depression (after realizing what a putz he and his dad have been) put him in the hospital.

That is what happens when you get caught with your pants down and your nose in a mirror.

I hope he has some other “skill” because he ain’t gonna be a congressman very long.

Thoughts of being on trial in January after American Revolution II will make a crooked Democrat very depressed.
