Five armed men who attempted to rob a jewellery store were left scrambling for the door when a 65-year-old woman opened fire on them.
The handgun-wielding thieves, clad in hoodies, were forced to flee Continental Jewelry in Garden Grove, California, after the woman chased after them last week.
The men pulled up to the store in a white Ford SUV and entered one by one, pointing their guns at the clerks and one customer.
They ordered everybody to drop to the ground, while opening up pillowcases and demanding cash in what was likely to be a violent smash-and-grab heist.
But the robbers were thwarted in their tracks when the 65-year-old storeowner heard the commotion from the back of the store.
She ran into the main room while firing two rounds, causing the men to panic and attempt to flee the store.

AGAIN, to real the REAL US news, one must read a BRITISH paper.
Thank you, Officer Eunuch.
Doesn’t one ever simply shoot at malefactors? Whenever I hear of opening fire, I always wonder what closing it would be like. (OK, I’m just kidding.)
Don't defend yourself....We clean up bloody scenes rather well..
They’re worried about the lead turning the scene into a toxic waste site or sumfin.
Arm yourself America and lets take it back from all the criminals, in suits or hoodies.
I interpreted the officer's statement and demeanor as if “ Hey, I've got to say you should not be shooting at armed men but Granny , that was b@tchin!
This story simply cannot be true. Freepers have assured me that no one in California has a gun except criminals.
65 is *elderly*?
Jeepers, that’s depressing.
Oh well, I had a good day at the range today. Got some nice groupings for a nearly elderly guy.
PS I don’t fire warning shots
Like the cop that pulled over the old lady in Northern Minnesota. After seeing that she had a concealed weapons permit he asked if she was carrying. “Yes dear. I have a .38 in my purse, a .45 under the seat, and a .38 in the glove box.”
“Jeez lady - what are you afraid of!?”
“Not a f...ing thing sonny.”
(Was a newspaper clip online - but might be photo-shopped).
“The handgun-wielding thieves, clad in hoodies”
Obama’s sons sure have been busy this year.
Especially the ones in suits operating under the color of law!!!
Dumb asses couldn’t even figure out how to operate the ‘Push/Pull’ entrance door correctly! Before they entered and on their interrupted and piled on way out.
A lot of ‘3 Stooges’ Inner City Olympic sprint talent going to waste. Cops will probably have them jacked up and waiting on lawyers by tonight.
Yes, that was funny. The could not open the door correctly when entering, then forgot how to open the door upon exiting. That was a funny part.

And a Brit paper reporting on the use of guns for the victorious protection of one’s self and property.
That lady is awesome.
If I owned a jewelry store or sold things like cell phones I most certainly would have a gun handy at all times. I also would have a small inner lobby equipped with a metal detector and would only let one or two customers in at a time. Their insurance costs have to be totally through the roof.
Outstanding! It is heartening to read so many articles lately about citizens fighting back. Only thing would make this incident better is if the lady had a carbine in the back instead of a handgun. Bless her all the same. OBTW...65 is NOT elderly, dammit.
How long before the local DA manages to trump up some charges against the gun wielding granny?
If the local police had any class they would pin a medal on her and offer to give her free marksmanship training.
Business owner in Garden Grove?
A lady with spunk?
Ok...off to read the article cuz I’m betting (myself) good money I already know...and it’s NOT gonna be one of Holder’s people.
Durn it...it doesn’t say...

Oh yeah! If Obama had five sons, it would be these five doofuses.
Ya gotta what out for those “pistol-packin’ grannies”. She reminds me of my mother, who could shoot better than all the males in the family. You talk about a “Steel Magnolia”, but she was one, rest her soul.
Wish I could remember their names.
Thanks! I forgot about that one.
Evena after all this time I still miss Gary Larson’s cartoons.
No one else has anywhere near the perception and viewpoint.
The woman who shot at the robbers would have been S**t Out Of Luck if she was walking down the street. Getting a Conceal Carry in any Urban Area in CA is nearly impossible.
I live in South Orange County, and the County Sheriff that replaced the disgraced Mike Corona doesn't like having an armed Population. She pulled a whole bunch of Permits right after the idiots here Voted her in. Her opponent was an advocate for Conceal Carry and had pledged to support any Law Abiding Citizen who wanted to Carry.
Did you all notice the little barking dog on the counter, lower right part of the screen? Brave fellow!
Amazing how today's "protectors" couldn't care less about protecting the citizenry...Wasn't always that way.
Now all they are good for is suiting up in Kevlar and smashing in doors in the middle of the night to frighten (often worse) senior citizens and/or dogs. They got away scot-free on Waco and that empowered them to go on an unrelenting power-rampage ever since.
Full suits, tank-like vehicles, unencumbered surveillance, and drones...There is little doubt what they are preparing for and who their enemies are.
The affirmative action sheriff, brought down from LA, right?
She’s not done OC any favors.
O.C. is known as being Conservative. Parts of it might be, but it's more Republican than Conservative. There are still a whole bunch of Obama lovers driving around here as well.
I would build a tastefully concealed corridor leading into the store that had remote controlled locking doors, power closing assisted as well, and it would be bulletproof, robbers either coming or going will caught in this corridor and then taken away like a vermin rat in a trap.
I saw the video, the SOBs were indeed a bunch of thuggerist punks. The had yellow all over their backsides and now between their legs.
Wasn’t she “selected” and not elected???
As bad as the stuff Corona was accused of, I hated to see him go.
I’ll never forget the first press conference he gave regarding the Samantha Runyan case...how he told the killer to NOT sleep as he WAS going to get him...
I haven’t laughed that much in quite awhile. That video is like watching the keystone cops or the Three Stooges.
My dog is giving me a funny look after that huge laugh.
Granny: “And tell your boss Holder he should resign.”
Followed up with: “You guys OK? Great, let’s lock up and head over to Chick-Fil-A for lunch...mmmm....mmm...mmm.”
Elderly at 65? Not in my book.
I'll be 75 next week and I still shoot a lot on my backyard "gun range" (I live on a few acres way out in the boonies). In fact I was out there today shooting my latest acquisition, a tiny Keltec .380 semiauto that's about the size of the tiny old Colt/Browning .25acp pocket pistols and weighs only 8 ounces believe it or not. I shot at least one 10 round 3" group @ 7 yards distance, which IMHO isn't all that bad for that little-bitty popgun and my old eyes. That won't win any matches, but it would absolutely ruin a BG's day.
Daughter said they should have played "Yackety Sax" over the video. ;o)
I was being factitious.
Wish I could do that with my Airweight. It's just for close work. However, as a plus it is reliable and idiot proof.
Your daughter is very wise.
It is a very ‘Benny Hill’ moment when the wannabe gangstas jam up at the door. Couldn’t have been choreographed better if they tried!
Seeing this video might just steel those law abiding citizens against this gun grab by the Dems.
I did a lot of work over the years for SFPD. They had an entrance into their communications room like that. You pick up the phone outside, ask to come in, and once in the corridor you're trapped. You get the lookover, via bulletproof glass and video, more confirmation before allowed to go through the second door. I always thought it would be nice to build that into my house.
