Adam Smith, the man who videotaped himself getting free water at a Chick-Fil-A drive-thru just to berate the young woman as been fired.
Smith in his video said he was happy to feel "purposeful" in condemning the Chick-Fil-A employee over CEO Dan Cathy's same-sex-marriage remarks. The video went viral and citizen journalists tracked him down online and grabbed copies of his resume. His employer, Vante, released this statement a bit ago:

Employee Has Left the Company TUCSON, AZ--(Marketwire - Aug 2, 2012) - The following is a statement from Vante: Vante regrets the unfortunate events that transpired yesterday in Tucson between our former CFO/Treasurer Adam Smith and an employee at Chick-fil-A. Effective immediately, Mr. Smith is no longer an employee of our company.
The actions of Mr. Smith do not reflect our corporate values in any manner. Vante is an equal opportunity company with a diverse workforce, which holds diverse opinions. We respect the right of our employees and all Americans to hold and express their personal opinions, however, we also expect our company officers to behave in a manner commensurate with their position and in a respectful fashion that conveys these values of civility with others.
We hope that the general population does not hold Mr. Smith's actions against Vante and its employees.

I have to admit I haven’t seen the video, and don’t care to. But if I had seen this guy talk the way it is described to the prettiest, sweetest, most cheerful girl I have ever seen who took my order at CFA yesterday I would have beat the living crap out him. Seriously. The only thing this guy proved is that he has serious mental issues.
Jerk doesn’t begin to describe this idiot. He thinks he made a social statement by berating a teenage girl. Cowardly and hate filled is what he is.
The company reserves the right to discharge any employee for misconduct.
You go into a critical business meeting and your potential client recognizes this dick-head. Do you explain that he was on his own time as the now-lost-client is walking out the door?

Sir, Cathy owns Chick-Fil_A and I am damn proud of him for standing up against the fascist left. he can say any damn thing he wants.
He thought no one would know his name. Probably was a photo of his auto plate. That linked to his name and wham, he is no longer anonymous.
Bet he is sobered a bit tonight. But might have a stiff drink to help make this tolerable.
The company might have been looking for a “reason” to discharge him. You never know.
And yes, company officers are generally held to a higher standard. Especially privately held companies. (been there and done that)
If I remember my bookeeping class from long ago, one of the important listable assets of a company is its Reputation.
A company's CFO performing in such a brutish manner, while purposefully filming his actions, then putting the film out for full and open public access ... well, it sure seems to me that he was willfully disregarding the impact his actions would have on a very critical company asset -- its Reputation.
Their immediate action to terminate the negative impact this walking disaster was having to the value of one of their most important assets seems perfectly logical to me.
And I would suspect their action was not only supported by, but probably recommended by, their lawyer(s).

Not so sure. Looks like the self-righteous ass just set up a Facebook account this afternoon. He's still going on about Chick -fil a and the "hate".

This may be the part we need to pity. The poor kids didn't do this.
He posted it ONLINE! He wanted everyone to see his "confrontation" with a miniumn wage teenager. Such a brave guy. If he hadn't recorded it; and, then posted it online there would have never been people who felt the need to find him.
My daughter was pretty pissed about what he did, and I said “but he’s on your side” because she’s been kind of against Chick-Fil-A for a few days after one of her friends started harrassing her.
I told her this was why it’s rediculous to politicize every aspect of our lives. Chicken should be eaten, not protested.
