OFFICIAL PROPONENTS ASK NATION’S HIGHEST COURT TO RESOLVE PROP 8 CASE

SACRAMENTO – ProtectMarriage.com, the official proponents of California’s voter-passed Proposition 8, petitioned the United States Supreme Court today to review the misguided decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals declaring the initiative unconstitutional.

Earlier this year in a 2-1 decision in the Perry v Brown case, the Ninth Circuit – the most frequently overturned federal appellate court in the nation – errantly upheld a federal district judge’s decision that the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment prohibited California from enacting Prop 8 to restore the traditional definition of marriage between a man and a woman.

“Marriage between a man and a woman has been the cornerstone of our society for millenniums,” said Andy Pugno, Proposition 8’s general counsel. “In fact, before the recent movement cooked up by Hollywood heavyweights and supported by activist judges to normalize homosexual marriage, it was commonly understood without a hint of controversy that the institution of marriage owed its very existence to society’s vital interest in responsible procreation and childrearing. Prop 8 simply continues what every society has known and practiced: children and society are far better off when traditional marriage is maintained.”

This org needs to be supported every bit as much as Chick-fil-A, if not more. This transcends California politics, it attacks all of us.

ProtectMarriage.org is the ONLY defender of the egregious attack on a validly enacted amendment. This completely passed muster within the California court system, but is now being attacked on a federal level, by leftist federal courts. They receive no financial support other than donations, while the sexual anarchist barbarians are backs by millions of dollars from Hollywood loons.

I’m glad to see this. I hope the SCOTUS picks it up. These days, who knows.

Barbarians... hmmmm, I’m going to have to give that some thought.

“Marriage between a man and a woman has been the cornerstone of our society for millenniums,” said Andy Pugno, Proposition 8’s general counsel.

"Millenniums," counselor?

Millenia is what I was taught and it’s especially funny that Homer Simpson is correcting someone’s grammar and spelling.

"Millenniums," counselor?

Yes, it's a valid plural form, per dictionary.com.

“Barbarians” was being way too nice. Apparently you don’t know what activists are capable of.

All right, then. I won’t argue with dictionary.com.

Well, we know if the gays bring in a lawyer who will lie in oral argument, Roberts will buy it.

John Roberts will find that the 9th circuit didn't really find a marriage but instead found a date with movie and dinner afterwards.

Since it is really a date with dinner, and anyone should be able to go out on a dinner date, he'll say, the 9th circuit really must be upheld, since it is much more important to uphold courts than any old referendum by the voters of a measly old state.

His arms got twisted just like all other who are a threat.

Anyone who does not think children are far better off with a traditional marriage
of a man and a woman are just plain evil.

I’m glad to see this. I hope the SCOTUS picks it up.

I'm scared the Supreme Court may look at this case. These days, with the court divided into three distinct factions - 4 conservatives, 4 liberals, and 1 moron - you never know what they might do.

Lancey, wish I could disagree. About all we can do is hope for the best.

Folks actually do the right thing here in California, and the courts nullify it. I still maintain this state is far better than folks understand.

We haven’t had a strong Conservative contest for our state’s people and votes since Ronald Reagan.

Every time we get a good person, the Republican party tunes out. That’s why I detest the GOPe with the passion I do.
