This listing has all the Republican races today http://enr.sos.state.tx.us/enr/results/july31_162_state.htm
I was in TX over the weekend and caught a glimpse of an ad claiming that Cruz deliberately had juveniles sent to prison or something. The ad featured the mother of a young man who committed suicide. What was that about?
Thank you for the clarification. I was not trying to stir the hornets nest :)
I just voted, here in Harris county North in Spring. It was a 15 people in front of me to vote Rep. There were ZERO in line for the Dems. Hope this ratio stays the same in the Nov Election.
“Like Governor Dewhurst, they are not bad people” BOVINE SCATTOLOGIES!
Dewhurst on FOX now. .. stumbling?
Any reports from Texas?
Polls don’t close here for another two hours and 45 minutes but I think this will be over early and Cruz will win big!
Been praying...want it SO decisive that the RINO’s and GOPe shake in their big ol Texan boots...a “we will not be ignored” message.
I have been working for the last week on the get out the vote initiative. We were very pleased with the turnout. Especially since so many expressed being burned out on all the elections we have had here recently. Hopefully by November they will be renewed and we will have as much success then in encouraging everyone to vote.
Waiting is hard!
Cruz and Dewhurst both went negative in their ads. It was a case of ...Pot..meet Kettle.
You can bet your boots that a Cruz victory here WILL NOT be ignored anywhere in this country!
It was a GOPe hit piece. Dewhurst’s ad that you saw was a lie; the China ads are lies; the ads saying Cruz is a space alien...wait, Dewhurst hasn’t run that one yet.
Dewhurst is being slammed for being a low-life by Texas talk radio.
Dewhurst and the slimy R machine are going to get beaten like a rented mule today.

Is there a thread for the returns yet?
bttt
Good for you! If each voter took just one more.
We once had a group of widows who would go together eat breakfast together. Their political views differed but everyone in the restaurant enjoyed listening to the well informed discussion.....Then go vote taking many with them. All but two gone...and so is the restaurant.
My daughter (her first time to vote) and I went to the polls about 3. There was a line about 25 people deep waiting to vote republican and nobody voting democrat. Go Cruz
Could you make this the “live thread” for the Texas run off and place it in the appropriate place? Several are already here waiting on news.

First time I voted ..it was for Eisenhower..BIG Day
Do the dems have a run off today ?
Thanks meg. If they don’t switch it to LIVE hit the abuse button and ask there. May be out to supper and they repond there the quickest.
Done
Hope it works
I voted after work. There was a short line only because there were only 2 voting booths. I asked the lady if she needed to see my I’d. She said “Maybe next election!”
I.D. Not I’d! Silly auto correct!
My husband called at about 6:35 and said there were about 200 people in-line in front of him to vote at our polling place.

“Those of us who do not live in the Great State of Texas
wish you success in sending Cruz to the senate.”
Thanks for good wishes! Hope to be posting some good Cruz Newz soon!
Congrats to all the Texas Freepers who voted for Cruz.
It is an historic night. Not only in Texas, but the entire
conservative nation.
Why? Because you have provided a road map of how to slay RINO’s. And your victory tonight will enbolden many qualified
Tea-Party candidates to run against these RINO’s, with the knowledge that the RINO money won’t buy them a seat.
It proves that with a great credible candidate, Conservative
Superpacs to help balance the money playing field and the backing and support of millions in the conservative nation
victory can be had!
A truly historic night for Texans and the conservative nation.!!!
Thanks, I figured it was something like that.
Dewhurst ran some of the sleaziest ads I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been watching politics since Kennedy was nominated.
He’s a self-promoter and an ally of Rick Perry, who probably couldn’t get elected today, either, were he running.
Texas is doing much better than much of the country right now. We are in relatively good shape, but it’s not due to Dewhurst and Perry, although they claim credit.
Our secret is less government, not more, including a legislature that meets 3 months every two years and then goes home to their jobs and constituency.
Two places with lines in Texas today: Republican polling places and Chick-Fil-A.
Looks like, Cruz, Devine, Pittman, and Stockman are winners. Every one of them is a candidate that the slimy GOPe in Austin didn’t want.
Thanks for the info. I turned against Perry back when he was trying to force Gardasil vaccines on every pre-teen girl in TX, and I never thought Kay Bailey H. was worth much.
Wish Okie legislators would meet less often. One question.. why hasn’t Texas switched to using Tag Agencies for license plates and such like OK does? I remember standing in lines for hours to get license plates in Texas from some surly bureaucrat at a county office.
I’m not sure what a “Tag Agency” is, but I’ve always gotten license plates and stickers by mail. Perhaps things have changed here...
I guess it was because we moved from another state that we had to go to the county courthouse (I think it was) and go through that ordeal. When you renew your plates, it is by mail.
Tag agencies are private businesses that contract with the state, and there are numerous locations. You can get your plates and renew drivers’ licenses (unless you are from out of state again!) at any of them. Since they take most of the burden off the DMV offices, it is much easier and faster when you do have to go to the DMV. Also, probably for that reason, the DMV folks here are nicer and easier to deal with than the crabby folks at the TX offices.
Still hoping that TX will secede and take OK with it! ;-)
