This is what’s right with the Internet. We’re able to see the truth for ourselves, instead of being at the mercy of the networks like our parents were.

“The Nazi salute was done with the right arm. Swinging your left arm back and forth doesn’t look like a Nazi salute to me.”

Maybe it was just the camera angle, too. Or maybe some people see things that just are not there at all. Sort of like how the liberals attribute all sorts of nonsense to Sarah Palin that was said by other people.

I don’t see it either. The woman next to him is waving her arm back and forth, and the people in the crowd shot are waving, so I would assume he is just waving also.

The nazis saluted with their right hands anyway.

There was another variation where they would make a similar movement, with the right arm, going from the heart area to extended. I don’t know all the technicalities of these things, but you see it in the footage usually when they are all “seig heiling” in unison.

Right - saw newsreels of Hitler doing it that way when reviewing marching Brown Shirts during street rallies.

There used to be an Olympic salute that consisted of the right arm extended outward and perpendicular to the body. There was a controversy in 1936 as to whether the American team should use the salute (as was traditional) in the parade of nations as it could have been interpreted as a Nazi salute and hence of respect for the regime. Instead the Americans took off their hats and placed them over their hearts as they passed Hitler on the reviewing stand.

This is similar to how the old Bellamy salute formerly used during the pledge to the flag was replaced by the hand over the heart--the old salute looked too much like the Nazi salute. Left wingers have in the past used old photos of the Bellamy salute to smear conservative groups as Nazis.

I can't make a judgment on what Troger was doing, but I just thought these factoids were interesting.

Bellamy of Looking Backward is now a “right-winger”? He was such a freakin’ socialist! Looks like the Leftists have always been ardent disciples of Goebles.
