Bill Clinton to have high profile role at Democratic convention
Associated Press/The Guardian ^ | 30 July 2012 | Staff

Bill Clinton will have an up-front role in this summer's Democratic national convention, where he will make a forceful case for Barack Obama's re-election and his economic vision for the country, several Obama campaign and party officials have said.

The Obama campaign will be keen to take advantage of the former president's immense popularity and remind voters that a Democrat was in the White House the last time the American economy was thriving.

Clinton's prominent role at the convention will also allow Democrats to embrace party unity in a way that is almost impossible for the Republican challenger, Mitt Romney.

Obama personally asked Clinton to speak at the convention and place Obama's name in nomination, and Clinton enthusiastically accepted, officials said on Sunday. George Bush, the last Republican to hold the White House, remains politically toxic in some circles. While Bush has endorsed Romney he is not involved in his campaign and has said he does not plan to attend the Republican convention.

Clinton will speak in prime-time at the Democratic convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, on 5 September, the night before Obama formally accepts the party nomination. While the number two on the ticket often speaks that night, the Obama campaign has instead decided that Obama and the vice-president, Joe Biden, will speak on the same night.

I knew it. I knew the Democrats were going invoke the memory of "Clinton's economy" and "the peace and prosperity of the Clinton years".

Are we ready to come up with answers for this, or do we want to keep screaming HUSSIEN-WRIGHT-AYERS and lose this election, too?

Not surprising, he’s had a high profile in the WH, even conducting Obama’s press conferences because Dear Leader was “too busy”.

Imagine how much mischief he can do if he trots out his usual passive-aggressive lukewarm support for Obama act.

Obama still occupies a prime position on the Clinton enemies list. In Clinton’s mind, Obama robbed him of his chance to get back on the White House gravy train.

Does the phrase, “damning with faint praise” ring any bells?

Apparently his job is to carry his water, anyway. Just like the media.

“I knew the Democrats were going invoke the memory of “Clinton’s economy” and “the peace and prosperity of the Clinton years”.”

They’re just dealing with the reality that Obama needs a lot of white support to win, and if the bitter divorced wenches who still get tingles when they see BJ Clinton are the ones he’ll get then so be it.

Most male voters, don’t want to look at Bubba. This is for the female voter who helped put Obama in the White House last time.

I guess the females still love the Rapist in Chief.

"the peace and prosperity of the Clinton years".

Peace???? Retired Air Force lieutenant colonel Buzz Patterson wrote in his book Reckless Disregard that Clinton carried out "CNN Diplomacy - foreign policy driven by television news coverage and political polling."

Commander in Chief Clinton dispatched the military overseas an amazing forty-four times during his eight years. The American military had been deployed outside of our borders only eight times in the previous forty-five years.

Peaceful times indeed! Prosperous because of Newt Gingrich and a republican congress. Clinton was and still is a bankrupt sleezebag.

1 worn out old Bubba = 23 absent younger Democrat congress critters.

They bring in a pinch hitter because no one is left on the bench wiling to be associated with the fiasco in Charlotte.

When asked “were you there when they crucified the Messiah” the fellow Democrats want to be able to say “NO”

They do not want to be witnesses to Charlotte burning

a Democrat was in the White House the last time the American economy was thriving.

Right. Because in 2006 when the unemployment rate was at 4.7% and the Dow was at 14,000+ and home values were at their highest, we weren't thriving. LOL!

But we were thriving in 2000 at the end of Bubba's term when we were losing jobs and the unemployment rate was increasing and the Dow was tanking (thanks to the Internet bubble).

The media, like Obama, tries to compress the Bush presidency into the final 6 months of his tenure.
