President Barack Obama’s top civil rights official repeatedly declined to support religious free speech during a July 27 congressional hearing, despite repeated questioning from Arizona Republican Rep. Trent Franks, who chairs the House’s constitution subcommittee.
Tom Perez, the progressive who runs the Justice Department’s civil rights office, refused to answer the questions posed by Franks.
“Will you tell us… that this administration’s Department of Justice will never entertain or advance a proposal that criminalizes speech against any religion?” Frank asked four times.
Perez refused to answer, saying “it is a hard question, in the sense that when you make threats against someone.” Perez then suggested he would respond to draft legislation from the committee, but again refused to answer Frank’s question about free speech rights.
Franks’ questions were prompted by an October 2011 Daily Caller report, which described a D.C. meeting between Perez and hardcore Islamists, including Mohamed Magid, the Sudan-born, Saudi-trained head of the Islamic Society of North America.
At the end of the public meeting, Perez called more meetings with the Islamists, even though he had watched while Magid called for legal punishment of people who criticize Islamic texts that call for violence against non-Muslims and for the subordination of women to men.

If attacking Christianity will never be a crime then that should mean that attacking Islam will never be a crime either. On the other hand if Islamic blasphemy laws can pass muster in the US, then the same would go for Christian blasphemy laws.

another connection between Obama and the Muslim Brotherhood's shariah effort is Ingrid Mattson, the Islamic Law prof from Hartford Seminary who was invited to the DNC convention in Denver in 2008.

ISNA’s and Obama pal Ingrid Mattson is the government’s choice of a successor for Alamoudi’s AMFVAC, the organization which selected Imams to serve as chaplains in bothe the US prison system and the military. Alamoudi was arrested and is serving time so the admin needed a new radical to fill the role, I guess.
ISNA is the organization which engineered Wahabbi takeovers of nonradical congregations or mosques where for years the congregants had gotten along with the larger Christian and secular community. They infiltrated these locally funded small time mosques with promises of money; but the money always came with a huge string attached. In exchange for funding the mosque and giving the congregants a nicer facility, ISNA would hold the mortgages and also install one or more of their “community organizers” on the board of the target mosque. In time they had total control of the boards and brought in more radicals, particularly Palestinians, driving out othe muslims or intimidating them to silence. ONce in control of the boards they were able to bring in radical islamic speakers and further corrupt the mosque, using it for a base of operations to recruit jihadists and support of such lovely orgs as Hamas.
